Actually, the kid is actually holding up a blank piece of cardboard. There's some flashgame on the internet that I've seen where you type whatever you want into the cardboard. The picture is from that program.

I've seen that game too and the things off that game are totally fake looking. THis pic is realistic and the word disappears behid the kids hand, you can't do that on the game.

actually, it isn't that simple. While that picture is disgusting, I think you have missed the point in why France and Germany have refused to invade Iraq.

It was France and Germany who had trade ties with Saddam and who were profitting off of his oil reserve, and it is all of the other imperialist countries, who he wouldn't trade with, that despise him so much. The French and Germans governments are just as imperialist as the rest, but they are a part of a different set of imperialist realations that is in contradiction with US/British imperialism.

It seems like the photo is real, that the soldier depicted in the photo is Boudreaux but that its not clear whether it was a cruel joke or what. Not that stuff like that doesn't happen in Iraq
