According to constitution, law, bill of rights, and so on what rights do I have. I've never read it, and yeah. I'm wondering, do I have the right to criticize the government? (In the US). Some teacher told me that it's illegal for me to wear a t-shirt - the one I wore the day before with a picture of bush and it says INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST. Freedom of speech?

Everytime I heard someone talking about freedom of speech in the usa, it's to defend the freedom of speech of nazis, kkk and shit like this.
But when leftists criticize the government, there is no more freedom of speech. They must shut up.
Freedom of speech in usa is give to you if you're a racist, fascist idiot, not if you are a leftist.

You have the freedom to agree with the goverment.
On paper, you have the freedom to disagree but in reality that freedom ends when you actually exersize it. The T-Shirt is perfectly legal. It might be against school dress code, but out in public you have the right to wear it.

America is really bad about this, and I think it has to do with the ego of individuals. You make a law in this country and it just doesn't matter, people fail to follow it or purposely don't obey it. Look at the integration of black students, although it was law that they get to go to that school. They brought in troops because people didn't like that law. Same thing with voting, when black people struggled and won the fight to vote, a lot of good old folks wouldn't let them when the time had come.
The freedom of speech thring really cracks me up and how people try and stop people's ability to speak freely. I mean it was so godamn important it went right there into a bill of rights at the very top. I think however they misworded it in the bill of rights - it should have been freedom of expression in all forms.
Maybe you won't get arrested in the US for that shirt, but that doesn't stop police from harrassing.

freedom of speech, both on paper and in practce, are less strict than in australia. if anyone says anything negative about anyone or anything they're in shit.
we have a boxer called ANthony Mundine who said that he didn't agree with the war on terrorism. he had his championship belt taken off him. thats how strict it his.
also, its my understanding, that aus has more people suing per capita than any other country in the world. (i could be wrong)

From the U.S.A Constitution:
9) The rights in the U.S. Constitution are not the only rights. Constitutional rights will not be used to deny other rights people may have.
What do you think of this?

the constitution also states that if the goverment had denied anyone their rights, the people had the rights to abolish it.
