I have read a lot of books, but some books I have read in my own language (Dutch).

A Revolutionary Life Che Guevara written by Jon Lee Anderson
The African Dream, written by himself
The motorcycle diaries
Het economisch denken van Che Guevara, Carlos Tablada (I don't know the real original name of the book)
A biography about Che Guevara by Jean Cormier
Traveling with Che Guevara, by Alberto Granado (the motorcycle diaries)
Back on the road, by himself

Books of Che Guevara are nice to read in the holiday!

For starters, The Che Handbook has simple straightforward information and its jam packed with photos of Che, plus propaganda art that's never been seen before. I always lend it to people who ask about my Che shirts. The timeline between the hardback covers is pretty useful too. For more info and pro reviews, search it on Amazon.com

As for my list, I've read...
- Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life
- The Motorcycle Diaries (my absolute favourite!)
- Images of a Revolutionary
- I, Che Guevara (a laughable novel)

I'm halfway through "Back on the Road" and will follow that up with "Companero."

Yes, he sent it back to me in the mail. The librarian kept telling me to get my friend to put $20.00 in my bank to pay for the replacement. I just told them to wait because it was coming, and sure enough it did. Along with his "Classics Studies" test. The answers were, Che Guevara, Greeks, #### the police, #### this test is ####### boring, and #### classics studies is gay.

By Che (which is the best stuff):

Che Guevara and the Cuban Revolution, the most complete collection of his articles and speeches. Other collections include Che Guevara Speaks and Che Guevara Talks to Young People, I've read most of the stuff in those.

Socialism and Man in Cuba
Episodes of the Cuban Revolutionary War.
Bolivian Diary.
Pasajes de la Guerra Revolucionario:Congo (in English: Che's African Dream, I think)
Part of the Motorcycle Diaries

You can get all that here. (http://www.pathfinderpress.com/d01/d01p06.shtml)

About Che:
"Che Guevara: Economics and Politics in the Transition to Socialism" by Carlos Tablada (In Spanish: El pensamiento economico de Che Guevara)
New International magazine issue#8: "Che Guevara, Cuba, and the Road to Socialism" (has a couple of articles by Che also).
Anderson's bio of Che, which is the best researched and least hostile I guess

Partly about Che:
From the Escambray to the Congo: In the Whirlwind of the Cuban Revolution by Victor Dreke (who fought with Che in both of those places)

Conflicting Missions by Piero Gliejeses - wonderful, incredibly well-documented history of Cuban foreign policy, includes unique stuff on guerillas led by Che in the Congo and Bolivia.

I've read Guerrilla Warfare and that's probably all I intend to read on or by him. All the bios and what not are nice, but they're really just hero worship. To me, it's his ideas and instructions on revolution that are truly important.

Believe me, he had a lot of ideas beyond what you'll find in "Guerilla Warfare."

i liked his story about "the little puppy" from Episodes of the Revolutionary War. also called Reminisces of the Cuban Revolutionary War, where he ordered one of his men to shoot a puppy that was tagging along with them because it was yelping and giving away their position.. later that night another dog from the camp came up while they were eating and begged for food from the guy who had shot the puppy. and he said the dog was looking at them from with the eyes of the puppy.

I'll never forget that story.. it said a lot about Che's humanity & conscience and his discipline in calling orders that he had to carried out that were hard to do and later weighed on his mind.

I know this is dead thread revival, but I feel the need to state what I have read.

Guerilla Warfare
The Motorcycle Diaries
Che (Perhaps the best Biography I have ever read period, detailed fact from his parents beginning, to his birth, and onward, never seen so much detail)
The Death of A Revolutionary
