Hands Off Venezuela Launches Glasgow Meeting

On Wednesday 22nd June, the Hands Off Venezuela is
holding a public showing of the film on the events
surrounding the coup of April 2002, entitled “The
Revolution Will Not Be Televised”.

The film will be introduced by Ramon Samblas, the
national secretary of the HOV campaign. The event will
be held in the Central Hotel in Glasgow’s Central
Station at 7.45pm. There will be ample time for
questions and discussion.

The meeting is also taking place to promote the
resolution on Venezuela at the Unison conference also
being held at the same time in Glasgow.

Latin America is in the frontline of revolutionary
developments. At present, Bolivia is being convulsed
in revolution, with the parliament surrounded and the
masses on the streets demanding the nationalisation of
the gas and oil industries. Events in Venezuela have
become a beacon to the downtrodden masses of the
continent. President Chavez has nationalised some
industries and is openly advocating socialist
revolution. As a result, as well as fearing the
consequences at home, the Bush Administration is
backing every measure to overthrow Chavez.

Venezuela needs our international support! Help
promote the Hands Off Venezuela campaign!

Great film! Ever seen "Venezuela Bolivariana: The people, the struggle, in the 4th world war"? Covers the movement from the Caracazo until the recall referendum. The Australia Venezuela Solidarity Network showed it a 2 weeks ago, with an excellent response.

Our next event in sydney is this saturday, June 18, at the Newtown Neighbourhod Centre, 7pm.

It's a farewell fiesta for the 60 people going on the first ever Australia-Venezuela Solidarity Brigade and atending the WFDY conference.
