Is it me or did everyone ignore ol' Woody, hes like the original punk. Great Left music.

It's pretty well recognized that he was the main influence in the wave of 60s activist pinko folk music, particularly Bob Dylan.

Well i hadent forgotten about woody i was actually listinin to some of his music not to long ago you can never get tierd of his music.

Exactly, he's more sincere than that!

There is a lot of bullshit posing in punk especially over the past 15 years, you never really got that in folk.

Yeah, Arlo rocks, and I love Woody, he is one of, if not the greatest folk musician ever, their was a movie about him with David Carradine called Bound for Glory. I hate how the commonly played versions of This Land all leave out a verse that is very powerful, it is hard to find a version that has that verse.

Actually he can be considered the 'godfather' of punk. So in a way he is.

If yer interested in Guthrie, check out Mermade Avenue by Billy Bragg and Wilco, all covers of uncovered Guthrie lyrics. Really great stuff.
