Glad to see the message is reaching the youth of our nation. :D

Always see it on TV, i read it in the magazines
Celebrities who want sympathy
All they do is piss and moan
Inside the Rollin Stone
Talkin about how hard life can be
I'd like to see them spend a week
Livin' life out on the street
I don't think they would survive
They could spend a day or two
Walking in someone elses shoes
I think they'd stumble and they'd fall (they would fall)

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
Well they got mansions
Think we should rob them

Did you know when you are famous
You could kill your wife
And there's no such thing as 25-to-Life
As long as you got the cash to pay for Cochran
Did you know if you were caught and you were smokin' crack
Mcdonals wouldnt even wanna take ya back
You could always run for mayor of D.C.
I'd like to see them spend a week
Livin' life out on the street
I don't think they would survive
They could spend a day or two
Walking in someone elses shoes
I think they'd stumble and they'd fall (they would fall

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
Well they got mansions
Think we should rob them
Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
we got so many problems
think i could solve them
Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
We'll take the clothes, cash, cars and homes just stop complanin

On the whole I really like that song, there's just one thing that bugs me - taking it at face value is unproductive to our cause. The reason being - it talks about theft as a way of dealing with something we don't like.

I was talking about it to a Conservative the other day, and they were taking it at face value, saying that it's hardly improving matters for the Left by "whinging about the Right then talking about stealing from them". Which is true.

The point to remember is the underlying story: No-one deserves to have the sort of money that the rich and famous has. (And once they have that sort of money, they haven't any right to complain about how things are - it's not like they can't afford to buy a different life.) No-one deserves US$20 million for 3 months' work, for example. Such money could be better spent on other things like improving society on the whole.

People will actively slam the song for it's face value meaning. We need to be aware of the issue and combat it head on. The song deserves better, and so do we.
