I want to change the welfare system in Canada. I find it disturbing that you require a mailing address to recieve welfare cheques, and sadly, "That box under the bridge", does not count for a mailing address.
People living in projects aren't the only ones who require welfare, the people out on the street, cold, hungry, and sick, need it even more. Yet they cant get it. I can't stand seeing homeless people, because I know there is enoug money here to eliminate homelessness. Yet it is still here. And I hate hearing that it's their own fault that they live like that. It shouldn't matter if it's their fault, because maybe it is, but they still should not have to suffer.
Anyway, back on topic. I have no clue how to go about doing this. I'm 17, and am not a politician. I'm considering taking it to the NDP in town here, and seeing what they have to say.
It needs massive amounts of fine tuning, and I'm looking for some input.
