Latin america is heavily opressed by different right wing governments, but many workers unions and revolutionary groups (like the Zapatistas  ) are beginning to appear.the situation in mexico may just be the first! could communism (or other prolitariat oriented governments) begin popping up?

I do hope Latin America will unite and become Socialist or Communist. The main problem I see is how this will hurt Imperialist U.S. I read in another thread Bush is already preparing troops for war with Venezuela. I think the Latin America could sustain itself by trading goods with each other and cutting off all trade and business with the U.S. This is the last thing Bush wants, Latin America could become a superpower to rival the U.S. I do fully support and pray for a succesful revolution in Latin America.

HELL YA!! A Latin America Soviet Union :hammer: Latin America has all the resources and man power it needs, and it can be self-sufficient. A lot of the world's oil comes from Latin America, only second to the Middle East. There is so much pontienal, and it's a very exciting time to be alive :D

If Latin America turns (which with the latest turn of events, it doesn't seem so far off), then we will all need to start preparing for the fight of our lives. Keeping Latin America free from imperialism.
I have no doubt that the moment a country claims socialist or communist ties... that the US will make a point of eliminating that country.

I really wouldn't rule out that prospect, although realistically you would imagine the United States would really try to destroy the revolution before it got to the stage that it was a very serious & looming threat in all Latin American nations. I mean I'm surprised that they have not tried anything in Venezuela lately, although I do expect something to happen in the not so distant future
