Greetings, comrades!

I'd like to tell you all about an organisation I'm starting. We call ourselves the "Orphs". Orphs has a little history which somewhat relates to the goal(s) of this organisation. In short, we are warriors who fight for freedom, justice, equality, individuality, truth, and logic. By warriors, we don't mean violent people; we are warriors who prefer peace, but don't limit ourselves to it. It has been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. This organisation would exist to provide a discussion ground for people who agree with these ideals, and for them to embark on projects to promote these ideals. We do not currently have a web site, or any web presence other than the #Orphs IRC channel on FreeNode. We would like to get the manifesto written before we really start doing stuff. We want to establish regional groups/chapters where Orphs can meet and talk and organise projects in person.

This organisation won't be open to all. Once we are somewhat established, we will have a system where you must fill out an application and be approved before you are part of the organisation. The whole point of this application would be to keep out those who don't agree with Orph ideals.

One big thing we want to do is to make a database of our members' skills and access so that people who would like to start a project can look through to see who they should talk to. Some projects we have in mind so far would be stuff like running reconnaissance operations on organisations that threaten Orph ideals (mostly the first 5,) providing a library of educational material for our members, and others, starting and training militias ...hold on, Fatherland Security is at the door.... Lately I've had an idea to start a socialist anarchist work force who make good products, and pay fair, equal wages to it's workers, and is democratically controlled by its workers... I'll probably post more about this idea later.

If you would like to help, or if you have any questions or comments, please post here, or join us in the IRC channel (#orphs on irc.freenode.net .)

Just don't become dogmatic and splinter away from the needed revolution.

we still don't quite have the structure and causes of the organisation down, but it will be something good, and we'd appreciate your (RL community's) input.

as i mentioned in the original post, we'd like to start and train militias. this could be the beginning of the revolution we all so badly want!

Where is the organization based? How many memebers or prospective memebrs do you have?

we don't have a geological base.
last i counted, we have about 10 members, one of them posts here often. (we just started)

also to note:
the presence of a militia is only for a violent revolution...
we much prefer informing the populace, gaining support, and learning about our opponents.

Training militia would be a terrible waste of time, unless you also train the ways of diplomacy, politics, and teach the art of protests.

Peace should always be exhausted before war, but to jump the gun to war is to automatically rule out the possibility of peace.

Once you rule out peace you go to a system of pure oppression (militarism). Once you are oppressing to end oppression without trying any other options... it seems kind of odd.

i like the idea of teaching politics and less-bloody forms of war.
the militia should be there durring peace times just so we are prepared.

i'm thinking that this should be a revolutionary libertarian socialist organisation, which i suppose is the freedom, justice and equality parts summed up and more defined. so in this case, it wold not be open to right-wingers and capitalists.

also, something i'd like to do is to network with other organisations who have similar goals.

after learning about social centres yesterday, and becoming fascinated, i stumbled upon the wombles site, where i saw images from protests where the protests were SERIOUSE! they were wearing gas masks and carrying sticks. this is one of the things i'd like to do with this organisation; organise seriouse protests.

while looking, i also saw some black bloc photos which depicted people breaking in to a convienince store and fucking shit up... what was the point of this?

not currently...
the only online meeting place we have right now is the #orphs irc channel on freenode.
once we get a bit larger, then we will have a website where people can join and discuss, etc. etc. etc.

oh, and i'm still adding music :-)
