If We Drill in Alaska Will There Be No War?

If we drill in Alaska for oil will the war with Iraq be averted? I think so if only the environmentalists would let us dam. Then when Iraq builds a concentration camp we can help fund it by giving them focus on reading programs!!!Yaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!:) ;)

yeah lets fuck another part of the planet up.
There's already plenty enough oil supplies. The US want to control the oil, not to have more, but to restrict the flows and so doing control the price, thereby maximising the profit.
Simple economics, if you have the majority of a product and decide you'll only sell it a little at a time the price goes up. Demand and supply.

It's more of the tune of : Why use your own oil, when you you can steal someone elses. That way you have both their oil and your own.

And saudi (US owned) oil is of such poor quality compared to Iraqi, it has to go through twice the distillation as most other oils.

I read an article in an issue of Time Magazine a while ago, it said that the US doesn't need Arab oil, and that there are enough domestic reserves to last out a war with Iraq anyway.
