"A Flying limo? Now I've seen everything..."
"Tell me Gary, have you ever seen a man eat his own head?"
"No"

Holy crap thats THE most reactionary, racist, imperialist movie I have ever seen.
But funny none the less. The producer of the movie knows how to disguise his disgusting material. He uses pupets(something normally people wouldnt take seriously) to convey his message.

I think it was made by the makers of South Park. I don't think they give a fuck either way about anything.

Are you kidding? The movie is a fucking satire! All those redneck right-wing nutjobs think that the movie is in their favor. Parker and Stone really don't care who they offend, but i think the movie was directed mainly at the foolishness of the extreme right.

Some of you guys thoughtthey were pro America, pro anything? A lot of the humour was satire. There quite a few political references in there, the use of FAG was genius. You guys were joking when you said that right? I am confused now.
It was excellent though. The toilet humour, was part of the joke, not the joke itself. Although It would have appeal to younger children, and uneducated adults as well.
Maybe I saw things that weren't there, I watched at a time when I was still using cannabis extremely heavily, however replaying it, it still seems funny and intelligent.

Well at least the "fags" were calling for peace. And the movie bashed them good. Now tht i think about it, it cant possibly be sarcasm. No way.

Kim Jong-il is well known for his movie collection, he has thousands of films. Film Actors Guild...get it it? Yes they called for peace, but they were behind a madman. I think it was very ballsy putting out a film like that, no doubt he will see it, and with all those nukes as well.
It was no more anti communist than animal farm, it may of hinted at the "left" being mislead and going wrong so what, it happens. It also showed Team America as brash, trigger happy nutjobs, blowing shit up, in the hope of killing the right person. It was a piss take, and it did just that, in a clever way.

RedStarOverChina, dude, I am really amazed that you could sit through that whole movie and actually believe they were being serious. Literally, I am amazed at you right now.
The movie was a satire on films by Jerry Bruckheimer. He makes very cheesy and very right wing action movies in America. The entire movie was a satire, and it was pretty damned obvious in my opinion.

they(FAGs) were the ones condemning US imperialism but thro out the whole movie they were bashed for their "Naivety". How does that create the effect of sacasm?

They weren't just bashed for, they actually were naieve, and then they fought forthe evil ruler under the banner of peace, even if it did take the piss it did so no more than animal farm, which most people here can see was not a "critique" of left wing politics.
If you didn't get it just trust us, it was definately satire, I will post a link tommorow, I was on a site about it about half an hour ago, but I need to get to bed now.
U R is right Matt and Trey did it after watching thhunderbirds, the original idea was "the day after tommorow" until they went down the Jerry Bruckheimer route because of film rights or something.

Because in America, the media and entertainment industry are portrayed as very liberal and idiotic. The right-wing tries to say that all these entertainers are nut-jobs that shouldnt have any weight behind their words when they bash America (Fuck yeah!).

Christ.....
Look. The movie was a comedy. The two guys who made this movie have a long history of making fun of everything, including the over the top partiotic idiots in America (you obviously haven't seen the South Park episode where the "Conservative Redneck Dumbass" fights the "Liberal Hippie Douche"). The entire movie was so over the top, so ridiculous that I just don't understand how you could've, and still seem to think this was meant seriously.

Blind faith is the only way to achieve true freedom! Freedom is Slavery! War is Peace! Ignorance is Strength!
See, that was sarcasm. Sarcasm that was very appropriate for the current subject matter.

pah, they got away with LOTS making this film. i thought it was neat. you all are being really pedantic. come on, everyone gets knocked on and team american only won because essentially it was their movie. will nothing appease you? one of my favorite lines was "team america has blown up half of cairo but successfully saved the world from the terrorists." i think the smartest aspect was that each character/group/scenario had their gimmicks, like sarah who thought she had psychic powers, that one team america dude who hated gary because the cast of the musical "cats" betrayed his trust and sexually assaulted him, lisa being kinky in bed, kim jong il singing about how he was so ronery, gary having to upstage his hero alec baldwin. and the whole dicks, pussies, and assholes diatribe was pretty fantastic. and of course matt damon.

What I can't figure out is why nobody found that steaming pile of crap of a movie puerile or sophomoric. It was just lame, not unlike those guys' other endeavors (That's My Bush, Baseketball, etc.). It was just pretty juvenile if you ask me, social satire or not.

From the wikipedia entry on South Park:
The political leaning of South Park has been open to some debate. The show has drawn widespread criticism from both conservatives and liberals for its themes and its offensive language. However, unlike many other satirical shows, South Park's political humor is often seen as mocking liberal celebrities and pet causes. This has in turn prompted the use of the phrase South Park Republican to describe the attitudes of some of the show's viewers. Trey Parker stated in an interview that he was a "registered Libertarian". In other interviews Trey Parker and Matt Stone described themselves as being (small 'l') libertarian-Republicans.
