A Few Words On: Capitalism

Capitalism, like an undying retro-virus, is able to spread through the hearts and minds of easily corruptible and weak men and easily consume their greedy bodies into a horde of money hungry fascists. While capitalism isn’t the only threat in the world, it is one of the most – if not the most – deadly forms of thinking known to the human. Capitalism – by definition – is the exploitation of the lower classes – the workers/proletariat – for the profit and good of the upper and owner classes. Now, unless human common law changed since I woke up this morning, this goes against the common though of man’s bond and instinct to become comrades with one another.

Capitalism was born in a time when the only choice was peasantry or imperialism. Either live in total destitute, or be beaten down by feudal lords. From a lower class of the feudal society sprang the belief that ‘Hey! We don’t have to be a king to be filthy rich!’. Thus, capitalism was born. The capital class was born. Out of the upper-middle class, sprang forth the mob of greedy men and women willing to do anything for another cent.

Capitalism has spread much like the Bubonic Plague did in the Dark Ages. It festered it people and rodents, allowing them to transmit the corruption farther, allowing it to multiply exponentially. If the people do not stand up for what they truly believe in deep down, then this virus will continue to spread until the entire world collapses upon itself in a disaster of bloodshed and greed.

Now, I’m not saying to completely abolish the government and capital class. As of now, the ability is drawing near to where we will though. We are at a time when political dissent is growing amongst the youth and workers of the world. Insane domestic and foreign policies put forth by imperial-capitalist nations are causing unrest. The banning of certain human rights and the persecution of those who don’t agree with its banishment has caused even more hatred. When the time comes, I merely ask for my comrades to be ready to ally with each other, whether they be socialist, communist, or anarchist.

My fellow man, a time will soon be near when the working men and women of this planet will be able to finally grasp the chalice that was once so far away. The chalice of choice, of the correct way, the chalice of the right and uncorrupt way of thinking that does not allow profit for a single class, the chalice that will not allow any man to destroy your ideals of justice, the chalice is that of total, utopian freedom.

As of now, we are at a time when history has come around its general loop, only this time, in favor of the workers. This time, history is on our side. This time, no capitalist can hold us back as long as we are willing to push ourselves forward and refuse to give in to any form of oppression, persecution, or treachery.

Interesting. Reminds me of the Communist Manifesto.

Though I do have problems with it.

Firstly, I think I understand what you mean by "human common law", I think you mean human nature. Now I do not believe in human nature being either good or evil. I think that people have the capacity to be brought up as hating or loving fellow humans. As either wishing to live with or apart from them.

I don't know if how you describe the birth of capitalism is strictly accurate, in fact I think that needs a bit of work. The second of these two paragraphs is interesting. I don't like the phrase "collapses upon itself". You could rephrase the sentence to talk about the system collapsing.

You don't want to abolish the government and the capitalist class? Do you mean you don't want to abolish the members or do you actually want to keep these institutions around? Ahh I know what you meant. But it was unclear initially.
Yes let us ally, until it comes time to fight for what sort of new world we wish for. Do we want a Brave New World? a 1984? or a better world.

Nice wording, could be made a little bit better by replacing man with either people or humans. Nice idea also.

This is a good conclusion. I personally don't like the idea of a wheel of time or a loop, but don't worry about that.

Overall a good piece, I've noted where I think it could be improved.

Riight. Yeah, yeah, YEAH, allright. Very cleverly written.
Now why don't you go out, play hide and go fuck yourself?
NAWWW! Just kiddin', o'course, thank you for explainin' the obvious.
What I was MEANING to say, 'tho, however, was to GET THE HELL OUT
and GO get STARTed SOME SHIT right now! Y'know what I mean!

So take some inspiration from HERE (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=35967&st=0),
and go get stuffed by the SWATS(ika's?)! :o

(I've always thought THAT topic were put in the wrong place. Ain't we

Thank you Apathy Maybe for your much needed criticism. I'm glad that people on here can critisize without completely destroying all motivation in the writer. I will try to improve on the points you stated. Thank you again.

However, on a reply to OleMarxo, this isn't practice. According to my interpretation of what The Practice forum was for, was the discussion of actions. This article isn't an action so to speak, but a piece of writing created to incite action and thus the practice of Marxism. But however, due to its political speakings - not the changing of Marxist theory - it would be placed in the Politics forum.

Good writing!

I want to take issue with one statement: While capitalism isn’t the only threat in the world, it is one of the most – if not the most – deadly forms of thinking known to the human. Maybe you would disagree, but I think Capitalism is too specific of an ideology in a world full of specific ideologies which are deadly forms of thinking to be called 'one of the deadlies forms of thinking known to the human.' You could just as easily insert tons of words instead of Capitalism and make the same point(Christianity, Monarchy, etc.). However, I do think the more general human cause(s) of these feelings could be called such a deadly thought. What is this cause? Greed could be an example. You might think of others, that is if you agree with me at all in the first place. Just a thought.

Also, I would suggest not adding remarks like: "consume their greedy bodies into a horde of money hungry fascists." There's nothing wrong with using the word greedy, but I think calling Capitalists names like 'fascist' is innapropriate. It makes your writing sound more like propaganda, alienating readers, and making it less likely for the writing to be taken seriously. I'm of course guilty of doing it plenty of times in my life, but I find that name calling is rarely(if ever) a useful way to get people to think on the issue you're speaking/writing about.

Lastly, if you are going to make the kind of claims you did in the last paragraph of this essay(or whatever you want to call it), you may want to try adding some kind of supporting details that back up these claims. Otherwise, it just sounds wild and unfounded.

Other than that bit of nitpicking I liked it. :D

First off. I like your writing style, wish I had comparable skills. I agree with the comments of Apathy and Luz, but to add a bit:

Now, I’m not saying to completely abolish the government and capital class.

I merely ask for my comrades to be ready to ally with each other, whether they be socialist, communist, or anarchist.

Think the anarchist and communist will disagree mate. May I ask, for what porpuse was it written?

And Jesus Christ on a fucking stick. Marxo aren't you a bit too old for tHiS!?!!

I knew that. Never said it WASN'T. I know exactly well: This is....THEORY. But what I was suggesting, was to 'transfuse' (another buzzword! Look it up) it into PRACTICAL energy. I'm sure you wouldn't object to that, no, seeing how much you HATE Capitalism, right into yer GUTS!?

You are correct, however, on your 'interpretion' (another buzzword! Look it up) of the Practice-forum, 'tho. That's why, I suggest you to be heading THERE, next, and discuss further ACTIONS - whom speak LOUDER than words, in my mere humble opinion. Of course, your "article" isn't an action in the burgeouise-definition of the word (Yes, we all know capitalists are the ones writing the labels here, all Commies should agree on'rat!) - Surely it is good to 'incite' (another buzzword! Look it up) action, of course, but it seldom helps to just STAND there and preach, when you can be OUT there and fight 'em. What do you think inspires MOST, if that's your goal? Sure you can give valid reasons and arguments for it, but what proves your point most, is smashing up the Capitalist-machine. Or see how fast shit gets to a grindin' halt when the Proletars refuse to comply.

So to the Politics forum it goes, eh? 'Practice of Marxism'...hmmm....well, kinda hard 'tho, still, since it's a word for an anti-Capitalistic theory, a way of disembling the world and society....not really possible to "practice" it, much less have a "marxistic society" - There's a practice part of that, and it's called COMMUNISM. So I mostly agree with the message, even though you're wasting your breath trying to convince the already convinced! Get this off the web and start educating people! :P
