Hi everybody! Glad to have finally got around to joining this site. Politics are my life and I'm hoping that I'll fit right in on this board of like-minded individuals.
Hi, welcome to RevolutionaryLeft, formerly known as Che Lives. What country are you from?

I live in America, which is moving farther and farther to the right, getting close to Fascism.

Getting close to fascism?.. So close that they (govt.) got there years ago.
Welcome to a site where you can learn and teach. I am also new here, but have found it to be a home thus far.

Yes, the government is already Fascist. However, since the people are still divided, I have some faith the leftists of the world will be able to pull us out of the hole we're digging ourselves into.

Welcome comrade! I see that you are a Trotskyist! Well, similar to you, I am also new to this forum. I know that I am a communist, however I am not entirely sure what sect I would fall into. Trying to deny that Communism (Marxism in particular) has been sub-divided is just stupidity. I am aware of very basic principles of these sects, but my knowledge is very cursory and I wish to enhance my comprehension of them dramatically. Thus, any help I could recieve from anyone (especially the Trotskyists right about now) would be most appreciated.

PS The reason why I am asking for Trotskyists especially is because this is the one which I am currently looking into and am interested in. I would like to declare myself a Trotskyist, but I need to know more about it before I can do so.

Welcome!
I'm saddened that most people do not know what fascism really is, and by that fact they will probably be the first to die by a fascist state.
Anywho, I definetly got a communist vibe from Trotsky's works but I think it would have been better that after being expelled from Russia he should have embraced real Marxism and abandoned Lenin's pseudo-Marxism.

I dont think anyone denys that communism has been sub divided but we need to stay as unifyed as possible because only when we (the left) are united will the revolution come about.

Comrade Skinz, I concur with your attitude towards the need that exists in the Left uniting, however many people are unaware of the sects in Communism and the complexity that this causes. Many people just simply do not have awareness of this; Stalinism, Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, Trotskyism are the same thing to them and thus they all get grouped a same thing. It is true that these are all supposed to be ways of communism, but they are all very different. An example of this is my Politics teacher, he, as well as basically everyone else in the class, seems to believe that Communism is just one group and there are no sub-divisions of it. People don't realize how complicated things are until they go and try to study it or get into it and because of this, that is why I said what I said, that people are denying the existence of the sects because they are simply ignorant of the fact that they exist. I am sorry for my confusing train of thought, you must understand that I am not at my best state of mind, it has been a long day and I need sleep desperately.

Not really. We can be as united as much as possible, but unless the working class share our beliefs, a revolution wont happen.
