US was a key supplier to Saddam (http://www.commondreams.org/views02/0924-05.htm)

From the article:

The AGWVA also points out: "Probably the most critical piece of information is that according to Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, in a December 15, 1986 article, the CIA began to secretly supply Iraq with intelligence in 1984 that was used to 'calibrate' mustard gas attacks on Iranian troops" -- meaning that Rumsfeld and company not only knew about the chemical warfare attacks but helped Iraq target the victims!

Pretty damning stuff there.

The deeper you get into this, the more you have to wonder just what kind of people control the USA.

Excellent article. Quite informative. Me and my one and only rightwinger friend have been tearing each other's throats out about the conflict with Iraq. We're actually both each writing two contrasting articles for a school newsletter about the issue. I'll certainly take this into account for mine.

I'm just afraid I'll have to much to say about it all.

More power to you, MDP. I hope you rip him to shreds. Have you checked out ZNet recently? There's some damn good stuff there about Iraq.

This is an issue I'm very interested in, so I've been reading a lot about it. If you have any questions about resources or anything, I'd do my best to assist you.

I wasn't aware of this. I only knew that America continued to give aid to Saddam after it knew he had used chemical weapons - I never thought they actually helped him with these attacks. But I suppose it shouldn't surprise me too much, considering the scum we are dealing with.
