More Historical Lessons
What would have happened if Ariel Sharon was stopped at different stations in his life.
By B. Michael
when disgusting leftists (like myself) wondered already a year ago, how come the Palestinian Authority's buildings are the targets of the israeli bulldozers, and not the Islamic Jihad's or Hamas's buildings, and concluded from that that Sharon's target is not to fight terrorism, but to destroy the PA in order to avoid minatory diplomatic negotiations, their claims were accepted in anger and cancellation.
And here, we won. Every sensible person already understands the stupidity in the activity of these bulldozers, and most sensible people are beginning to see that Sharon's colossal plans eventually come to piles of dust, dead bodies, blood, hatred, and ultimately - a burst of weeping from the man himself, who is throwing accusations everywhere.
One example for Sharon's accusations is in the speech he gave in the Memorial Day for the Yum Kippur war of 1973. Spirits of war landed on the man, and he started accusing people for the historic faults close to his heart - the Israeli government of 1970 is guilty of not attacking the Egyptians as they were bringing missiles closer and closer to the Israeli border, and the Israeli Government of 1995-1996 is guilty for not "responding properly to the infridgments upon the Oslo Peace Accords by the Palestinians".
This educated diving into history also made me a little studious, and so I did some personal research, and came to some amazing conclusions:
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail in September 1953, when a unit under his command slaughtered 69 people in Kibiya village, half of whom were women and children, there is not doubt that we would have prevented what happened in February 1955.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail after an operation in Gaza in February 1955, which lead to the death of 38 Egyptians and 8 Israelis, there is no doubt that we would have prevented what happened in October 1956.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail after the embarassing operation in Kalkilya, October 1956, when 18 soldiers were killed, and many others wounded because of Sharon's defective battle management, we would have prevented what happened later that month in Sinai.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail after the military operation in Sinai, October 1956, when Sharon broke a clear order and sent his fellow soldiers to a hopleless battle in the Mitleh (while waiting for them in a safe distance away, instead of joining them), where 38 of them found their death, we could have prevented what happened in 1970 in the Gaza Strip.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail after he put together a death unti in 1970, which carried out cold-blooded executions, we would have prevented what happened in October 1973.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon from the military after the egoistic and irresponsible way in which he commanded his unit, according to him many commanders such as Dayan and Bar Lev, there is no doubt that we would have prevented what happened in Lebanon in 1982-2000.
If someone would have thrown Ariel Sharon in jail after what happened in Lebanon in 1982, from going into a stupid choice-war to the massacre in Sabra and Shatila, there is no doubt that we could have prevented most of what happened in the past two years, and the things to come until this horrible man lets go of us.
And this, my honourable friends, is only a partial list of all the eye-opening historical lessons that we can learn from looking at Sharon's little historical archive.
This article was published today in Israel's daily newpaper Maariv.
