I was just wondering, are stalinists banned on this site? I'm not worried, I'm a Castroist so I'm ok. But are stalinists banned? And if so, are any other groups banned (apart from nazis of course!)?
The board policy on Stalnists has evolved some.
At the momment, as far as I can tell, Stalnists are tolerated as long as they're respectful and civil

O right. I just wondered because I noticed some Stalinists had been banned and I wondered if (like me) the board didn't like stalinism. The other question I want to ask is, was Mao Tse-Tung a stalinist? His government seemed quite similar and I've heard rumours.
Yes, Mao was a very big fan of Stalin and enacted similar policies. He was quite upset when Khruschev denounced Stalin and Sino-Russian relations suffered greatly over the next few years.

Why does the majority of the people on this forum oppose and attack Stalinism but yet have Che Guevara as the "leading revolutionary figure" on the forum?

Perhaps because he never turned corrupt as the party did under Stalin and stayed true to his death?

Theres such a thing as a Castroist?
Well I'll be damned.
Castro was not always a communist. He told Che, my revolution first, your second. He was even in America saying he was not communist shortly after the Cuban revolution. The USSR was the only one to give him support so he became a commie. Thats how I see Castro. Though I do admire is working with Venezuela, Cuba still needs a political revolution. Cuba is no longer isolated and needs a government shakeup.

While he may never have directly stated he was communist, it's difficult to question what at least he probably believes to be his authenticity as one. While the Cuban revolution may not have had any direct connection to a perceived socialist revolution, the action was very much a part of that. There are early accounts of Castro toting around Lenin's State and Revolution to student group meetings etc.
He has both overplayed this influence and downplayed it, no doubt for political leaning where he can get it -- in the end, however, it had been with him from a very early age. To what extent he desires to bring that influence is something we cannot be completely sure of until his time is definitely up.
