Would you rather have a fascist "communist" government like that of East Germany or would you rather have a capitalist controlled society like that of West Germany?

Neither one, thank you.

Well no shit neither. But if you were forced to live in Germany when it was split up what would you choose? Because as much as us communists oppose capitalism, would you choose it over state fascism? I would. One could argue that capitalism is state fascism, but i highly doubt Americans faced nearly the amount hardships the Soviets enforced on its people.

I would choose the capitalist side, because like Che said, its good to be in the belly of the beast.
Although the otherside was quite a horrendous beast too.

If I "were forced" to live in Germany in that era, I probably would have reluctantly chosen the German Democratic Republic (East Germany).
I think I would have found it less oppressive to me personally than living in West Germany.
But who knows?

Redstar2000, your an egocentrical bastard and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I personally would have rather lived in the time just before the Weimar Republic and tried to push along the Socialist Republic.
And for a direct answer, the DDR.

Well, if you were in Berlin at the time, you wouldn't be able to leave, but I honestly don't know enough about either one to make a choice, and I don't get your thread title, which one is fascist, which is less fascist.
Yeah, that's the thing, neither state was really fascist in any form.
The German Democratic Republic was authoritarian state-capitalism, the German Federal Republic was a market repuiblic.
For a fascist Germany, you'd have to go back about ten years.
