Hey everyone,
This is my first real thread so here goes:
Chances are you guys know about what is going in Occupied Palestine ( I refuse to call it Israel) unless you live in the USA where the Jewish run media only shows stories about a poor Jewish kid in New York who broke his arm in a playground...
You all have your own opinions about who did what to who first and whatnot but i think that this is our first mistake. We spend to much thinking about the past and what could've happened instead of thinking about the present or securing the future.
I'm not saying to forget the past but instead of worryign about what the pharoahs did to you 2000 years ago think about what you are doing to fellow semites TODAY!
I'd just like to get your guys opinions on what's going on in the Middle-East and how it relates to the Cold-War and Americas' influence there.
Cheers,
Kaos
I think at the same time as stressing the roadmap the USA is turnng a blind eye to Israel grabbing more land in the West Bank while giving up small parts of land in Gaza.
Also, remember 2/3 of people live below the poverty line in the West Bank.

This conflict really splitted the leftern side here in Germany. I am NOT antisemitic or denie the right of a state of Israel to exist (like the right of the USA, Germany, Cuba and so on).
This conflict is too far away to give a objectiv opinion. I just canīt agree with the Methods of Israel (btw. the german "BILD" (sth. like the "SUN") titled the 6-days-war a "great Blitzkrieg")

actually i think it is pretty fair thign to say because i have all my relatives in the states and they till me what they show on the media on its absolutely pathetic.
What's even better is when i went to Dubai and watcha Al-jazeera. Now thats good quality left-wing anti american stuff!
What!? I cant believe you are serious!? Where are you from?
Al-jazeera is left wing? anti-american? which makes it good!?!? Al-jazeera is certainly not left wing. It represents the same bourgeois interests as American media does!
How can you ignore class relations in regards to the ownership of the media and replace them with simplisitc ideas based on ethnicity and religion?
The corporate media around the globe is pathetic, because its not focused on ordinary people but represents the interests of the state!

Al Jazeera may not be left-wing, but it is certainly worthy of praise for it's work in uncovering the crimes committed by the US imperialists in places such as Iraq.

The "Jewish run media"?!?
What is this, 1938?
You mean the "Jewish" news leaders like Sumner Redstone and Les Moonves and Dick Parsons and Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch and Bob Wright and Donald McDonal and Jim Walton and Eason Jordan...
Oh, maybe you meant Peter Jennings and Brian Williams...
ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOXNEWS are all run by Christians (they're also, incidently, all run by white males which is a whole other issue)
So... excatly which "Jews" were you talking about?
What's even better is when i went to Dubai and watcha Al-jazeera. Now thats good quality left-wing
 :D  :D
anti american stuff!
Anti-American? Yes (most of the time), but "left-wing"? Hardly!

Why?
You call America "America" even though the name is a European invention forced upon the native population.
I'm fairly certain you call England "England", even though that's legitimizing the Angle-Saxon-Jute conquest of Britonic land.
We call countries ...what they call themselves, even if we disagree with their politics, even if we disagree with their governments. Simply because to do anything else is impractical.
Even the PLO, hell even Hamas, calls Israel Israel!

Actually the correct way to refer to 'America', would be the United States of America. And England isn't a country, it's a 'state' of the United Kingdom.
:P

Right, but "The United State of America" is still a European name forced upon the original inhabitants of the area.
And England isn't a country,
Never said it was.
*runs away*
Yeah, you'd better run *****!

I thought it was implied when you said, "We call countries ...what they call themselves...", after just mentioning 'America' and England :P

The answer to the Palestinian problem does not lie in support for oppressed nations' 'right of self-determination', or the call for a secular bi-national state. Both forms of nationalism, Zionist and Palestinian, arose out of the need to recuperate and repress the combativity of the proletariat.
