:P sorry I make that mistake sometimes. I confused it with Austria :P Austria is notorious too for it's extreme-rightwing scene.

I dont know if it really more right wing but it is pretty dam right.

for example our opposition party called the labor party was essentially a watered down communism in the 70's but now sometimes they seem more right wing then the fricking Liberals!

Somebody please help our country! Our communism party is run by a bunch of idiots who hopped onto the bandwagon in the 50's and now don't know what the hell they are doing!!!

The liberal party in control of Australia in the 50's led by Sir Robert Menzies actaully banned our communist party..

Hypocritical? You decide...

RedStar2000 at about 60 - hes the wise brainbox of the board.

Wise brainbox?! He is not infallible. All I gotta say is watch out for him and his personal attacks ... but you'll be fine as long as you don't disagree with him on anything.

But welcome all the same. This site can get highly frustrating at times, but enjoy it if you like it.

What kind of ideas do you have, Kaotic?

The Communist Party of Australia was formed in 1921, with the help of Industrial Workers of the World (IWW).

They have a large role in the minor party movement and the left movement in Australia. The had many links to the Trade Union movement, the cultural movement many Australian writers and other artist joined the party.

Today the are minor in the left movement though there numbers are growing.
