Shot dead in 1964 over an alleged dispute with the owner of an LA hotel, Sam Cooke penned some of the greatest tracks of the previous century - most notably "Chain Gang" and "A Change is Gonna Come", both of which dealt with the subject of segregation. To my mind, he's one of the most inspired artists ever to walk the face of this dirtball.

I'd say that it's up there, it is just as good if not better than Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". It always reminds me of the end of Spike's Malcolm X movie when he's driving to the Audubon.
