I've heard the title a few times and faintly remember reeading a review in the newspaper a while back now. Though what has really sparked my interest was a film maker talking about his favourite films all of which were pretty much mine except this one which I have never seen. Can somebody please fill me in?

Bunuel and Dali film. Avant-garde with some of Dali's surrealism. Has some criticism of religion and social institutions as holding back human nature, don't want to give it away but there is a part where Dali is trying to have sex with a woman but literally relgion holds him back. It also makes "film tricks" with continuous action.

(I've seen the film before)

It's interesting to say the least....I didn't find it quite spectacular, but maybe I wasn't seeing it in the right context as it was quite a few years ago and I was young. I found it to be quite bizarre, and that one part was really freaky and out of no where....everyone who see's it knows what I mean..

Is it silent?

Jersey Devil:
I like being told the endings that way I know what yo look for and take away more from the film. So please feel free to go into detail if you can be bothered.

The eye. Think of it this way, she is sitting down and her eye is being cut by a razor.....she's suppose to be the person watching the movie. Anyway, avant-garde films are suppose to be weird in that way, though I did not particularly like it.

Also, it is not silent, I don't think it was anyway.

Anyone ever seen Scorpio Rising?

I've seen the eye slicing before and always related it to Dali and knew it was from a film but had never seen it. It makes more sense to me now; didn't Man Ray also have some hand in Un Chien Andalou perhaps or am I imagining it?

It is a very short film 15-20. Makes absolutely no sense. But it was meant to be nonsensical---surrealistic.
