H. L. Mencken who has read any of his books.

I have read interenet biographies and read many of his quotes. He seems like an all round good bloke. I want to read some of his works

What books should i read first?

You might start with this site...

My own personal favorite and one that I think is still worth reading...

Treatise on the Gods

It's long been out-of-print, unfortunately, but you might find a copy in a really large public library.

Remember that he was not any kind of revolutionary but rather a well-informed journalistic critic of American society...and you can enjoy his work.

And get an idea of how far American journalism has declined in the last half-century. :(

Yes he seems like someone to enjoy and there is some truth in what he says.
