Washington Post opinion piece (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/17/AR2005051701326_pf.html)
Complains that the new Ukrainian government is following a more populist economic policy than its predecessor, has raised wages, may even renationalize some businesses, etc.
Comments? Offhand seems like the pressure of workers' expectations...the move to bourgeois democracy may sometimes have the unintended consequence of making it hard to repress workers, who don't much care for the market-oriented "reforms".
China, where the old ruling party has remained in power, seems to have done more to create an area for profitable investment, than any former Soviet or even Eastern European country.

Yushenko (Ithink that's how you spell his name) may be very centrist on almost all policies, however the previous governments, which were dominated by former communist party members, who were extremely corrupt, held the Ukrainian people back for years, both politically and ecnomically. I realize that economic growthn is usually avalue prized by neo-liberals, but the Ukrainains didn't even have food on the shelves, even if they had the money to buy it. Its nice to see some of the human suffering that was so prevalent in the past aleiviated.

While Ukraine's orange revolution was happening, I had doubts about whether it was a genuine movement of the people. But then I heard that Ukraine's new government will be withdrawing its troops from Iraq, so that confirmed the movement's validity, at least for me.

The Orange "revolution" was something the CIA used to install a puppet into Ukraine that will do the bidding of imperialism, similar to what they did in Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. Lushenko is just another bourgeois liberal who is going to get them to join NATO and make them reliant on IMF/World Bank loans. He only pulled troops out of Iraq to make himself seem a little better, but that has nothing to do with his true intentions.

None of these comments really address the article or the economic policies that the new Ukrainian government has been following. With the exception of El Revolucionario, everyone seems to be just repeating previous opinions.
In particular, lemme point out the policies described do not seem to be "the bidding of imperialism."
