I forgot to tell you that NBC bought out Telemundo; so don't expect anything liberal or un-american coming from that channel anymore. Just a reminder.

This will make absolutely no difference in the news shown on Telemundo.
The news was just a spanish translation of what the english chanels said.
P.S.
Timbaly:
Your only fluent in english?
What the hell happened to your "espańol muy autentico!"

andresG,
I have to disagree. Spanish news focuses on Latin America more than anything and is politically neutral. They showed news that USA news would never show because they think there's a lack of interest for the English-speaking population of the USA.
Also, I don't think NBC's purchase of Telemundo affected much of it's programming. They're cultural differences and if they tried to make it more "Americanized," viewership would simply decrease. (These networks are as American as they could get from the simple fact that they're being broadcast in the USA.) I don't support NBC's purchase of a Spanish-Speaking network, but it didn't and won't change much.

It was never liberal or un-american anyways. They are fond of voicing the opinion of Batistaite cuban-americans when it comes to issues bettween Cuba and the U$. They have also always contributed to the brainwash of the hispanic community about America being the "protectors of democracy" and the left being "anti-democratic" and therefore, accepting a system in which they have nothing to win. They even claimed, after 9/11, that no matter what country we are from, we should embrace the U$ as our country as well (even though the U$ has deliberately fucked over all of Latin America in the last 50 years for none other than their own corporate gain). They are a fucking disgrace, and Univision is no different.

El Brujo,
I agree. While they still focus on Latin American issues and culture, they don't really document the whole truth. I never once seen them do a documentary or special show on any of the coups or dictatorships in Latin America. However, a little freedom is in the hands of the broadcasters. On April 11, during the failed Chávez coup, some reporters seemed happy and showed Venezuelans in Miami (Why that city in particular...hmmm) celebrating, while others were interviewing supporters of Chávez and didn't seem happy at all. Still, the head of the networks are pro-USA, but express it on certain things in order to maintain viewership, but support from USA politicians.
P.S.
The USA has "fucked" Latin America for over 150 years, starting with Manifest Destiny and the Mexican-American War. Sadly, this vicious cycle still hasn't ended.
