Now, is it REALLY better than the last two? From what I heard it makes up for them.

Umm nothing can make up for the suffering I went through after the last two, but it was alright. It was nothing to rave about but it was enjoyable. I still think he should have named it Star Wars Episode III: Sorry About the Other 2

True.
It was good.
Easily better than the last two.

I saw the midnight showing, and it was very good indeed.
No, I didn't wear a Jedi costume. I'd rather not make it so obvious that I'm not getting any ass.
I mean, when you go in public wearing a Star Wars costume, you're pretty much throwing it out there that you're dieing a virgin.

But the movie was very good.
The dialogue was shitty, as usual, the melodramatic romance scenes were total shit, as usual, although aside from that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was a lot of action, which was good, although they could have benefited from more variation in the light saber fights. Maybe he was trying to make them more like they were 30 years ago. Who knows.

What really did it for me was Anakin being torn between the dark side and the Jedi council. His values and priorities all under attack by his selfishness, greed, hunger for power (of Padme), and the dark side.

Palpatine's performance was also excelent. One of the best in all Star Wars films.

This movie was by all means better in every imaginable way than episodes I & II.
George Lucas should be limited to coming up with plots, storylines, and characters. Someone else should have produced, directed, and wrote dialogue. Then the movie would have been a fucking masterpiece.

guerillablack, it should count. Spaceballs > all of the Star Wars movies combined.

You must have seen at least quite a bit of the Star Wars movies to appreciate Space Balls. There are so many "in jokes" that only Star Wars nerds would get. There are also many stand alone jokes. A classic that can be enjoyed by all.

Did anybody else catch all of the anti-war and anti-Bush underones throughout the movie?

In particular, the line "you are either with me or you are the enemy..." Sound familiar

I saw it on the day it came out, and I must say I was very impressed. :D
It definitely makes up for Episode I (I quite liked Episode II).

I really liked the chase with Obi-Wan and that General Grievous fella.

It was the most similar to the original films, with the humour etc and the overall 'darkness' of the film.

And who saw the Millennium Falcon? Round of applause to the first person to tell me where it was :)

I noticed that But I wouldnt think its so much an anti bush message as much as it is just The general attitude when a society takes the turns it does like in Ep III.

I just saw it today.

I loved the fight scenes in it, but other than that I really hated it.

I thought it was one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen possibly (Due to the Padme-Anakin thing. Padme looks like a girl I knew who died in a car crash).

I just got back from seeing it.

I am now pathetic. I have been touched by STAR WARS!

I've seen it and R2-D2 kicked some serious ass! I think the dialogue could have been better...I burst out laughing many times just because of the weird dialogue. Although I'm glad they didn't include any dialogue from Jar Jar...that would have ruined it for me.

I thought it was quite good. Not as good as the original ones but much better than 1 or 2.

I saw Star Wars Ep III on Thursday, and Friday Night...late. I was impressed with the ass kickin' jedi action and the near-completeness of the movie. I found the underliying anti-imperialist, anti-bush phrases to be very satifiying (Emperor Palpatine is shown as a Hitler-like dictator...using Facist prowar stance to bring about "peace" to a new Empire.) However, I was disapointed about choppy dialogue and the lack of an introduction to starwars characters like the Wookies. What about Han Solo? Lando Carisan? The Millenium Falcon? ....all of these thing were missing. Anakin's true roots are ...I think hinted at. Darth Plaugus the wise could create life by using the darkside of the force...is Anakin a product of this Dark Lord? Do we know? So I think this movie opens up a lot of room for more StarWars films and spin offs which is a good think because the First 2 StarWars films were no where near the calibre of Ep 4, 5, 6.

well , its the last episode , so the directors shouldve have done a better story , they gave the end of the movie an extention , i mean with the change of lord vader and putting the mask one , they still have the chance to do one more sequel , but its the last one so it wouldve been better if there was a total end in the movie.
from my opinion i give the movie8/10

"It was good, but no empire... "

I never got what was so great about empire. Don't get me wrong I love all the movies, but out of 4,5, and 6, Empire was my least favorite. Here is my ratings from worst to best.

II:Clone Wars
I: Phantom Menace
III: Revenge of the Sith
V: Empire Strikes Back

And then A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are a tie for me.

Really the only original SW I really liked was Jedi.

I liked the new first two movies alot because I love the Jedi fight scenes and consultation. I really like the Jedi. Martial arts is a huge part of my life, and the lightsaber fights are so cool (Even if fighting with one would probably give you a seizure).

It was just alot cooler for me than a bunch of people flying around a planet-sized orb of metal and shooting it.

You put Episode II as worse than episode I?? Episode I was bogus. A new race was introduced that talked like idiots. Annikin (sp?) was pretty damn annoying too. Always whining about something; not to mention in a very annoying voice. At least the 2nd one had decent fight scene, and Yoda fighting.

Empire's my favourate. Then jedi.. Persnally i htink that the dalogue and acting are shit in all of them but the plot and lightsabers save them in the original ones at least.

Yeah, I find it funny, that the man in the Vader suit didn't know that what he was saying was going to be dubbed over. Maybe that's part of the dialogue problem?

itīs better an the first two and itīs good as long as you see ít as Popcorncinema. But compared to the three old ones itīs crap! I see a good story as important and the only thing i remember from this one, is that women only want to build childrooms on far planets :D

I saw it last night and thought it was excellent, certainly the best of the prequels (not a great achievement really.

Of course the dialogue, especially in the the 'love' scenes is tedious, but I think the betrayal of the Jedi and the 'turning' were done really quite brilliantly.

And no, it's not better than A New Hope or Empire, but it's better than Jedi.

The Millennium Falcon was coming in for a landing just below the ship that was carrying Anakin and Obi Wan when they were returning the Chancellor to the Senate right after they crash landed the large ship that they were rescuing him from.

I think that "nooooo" part would've been better if one of Vaders robotic arms fell off.
"NOOOOO!!!! " *THUDDD* "NOOOOOO!!!"

In the other episodes of Star Wars anyone ever notice how Donald Trump talks to his employees the same way Vader talks to his troops!

Concidering there's only two female characters in all six films, they could have given Padme something worthwhile to do, rather than just moping about with Anakin then dying the most pathetic death ever.
The jedi (and the senate) seemed a bit slow on the uptake too.
I thought Anakin's motivation for joining Palpatine was a little weak also, they should have made more of the desire to 'bring order to the galaxy' which was only really hinted at.
On the plus side the fight scenes and special effects were all breath taking, it's just a pity it was let down by a fairly weak plot and dialogue...
All in all, though, an enjoyable couple of hours...

Apparently the "nooo" bit was a "nod" to Frankenstein. Still, it was pretty ridicilous.

I was reading someone on AINT-IT-COOL that said that they should have the walls shake and some of the minor guys in the room get choked by Darth. That would have been much better for that scene.

As I said though, I still though ROTS was the best Star Wars film since Empire.
