View Full Version : Omar
hello to you all
my name is Omar im a half iranian muslim, while not particularly marxist i would much prefer a communist government to a vile capitalist economic structure. i am also very impressed with the intelligent and meaningful posting of members here, and was extremely pleased to see non-muslims siding with the iraqi resistance in the politics section.
in short very happy to be here and hope to contribute soon.

exactly!! the american experience of freedom is based on throwing off the shakles of occupiers and working towards your own destiny, sadly it is americans that understand least the situation in iraq.
i can see im gonna enjoy it here :D

Hey there, Omar. Welcome to the leftist-utopia...or so it would CLAIM to be.Very...exotic name. Kinda like in Arabic adventures, huh? Right! Just learn to write less enthusiastic, it gets kind of annoying in the long run to talk like ye're havin' a party - don't suit intellectual discussions well, eh? No matter, it will prove only a slight delay....
As for being a communist (or just a leftist!) and a muslim, well, I have no quarrel with that neither islam. But the extremism and the killings...well, I 'spose it's a return to all the globalism-crap from the west - imperialistic capitalism from the U.S. - I 'spose I could accept that, but not murdering in bad blood..and the hell not innocents just from the same nation...Americans. But I'm not going to weigh up on you, I suppose your religion has to slide for leftism or vice versa.. your choiche.
Both doesn't come togheter - Communism is anti-Religious, after all...because it believes Religion is a cancer and causes people to become mind-slaves of a word in the bible, or the organized system that follows this religion (dubbed that it was created only to make people stay in line, and that it fades to belief in the system) makes people do very stupid things...like doing crusades..or Jihad to you?. That's true in Christiany as in Islam - perhaps except Buddhism......but they're all pacifist loonies! We only advocate violence as a solution (Revolution).
So welcome to US (Not U.S., but like in, us) Comrade Omar. The more the merrier, especially from outside the western world. Baheh! I hope we can all unite - international - against these profit-honchoin' money-grubbers from the capitalists of the First World - And join us in "intelligent" discussions (depends on the eye of the beholder, of course) - By the way, how old are you? As for that, interesting fact: YOU JOINED ON MY NATION's CONSTITUION DAY! ;)

Well, I can only speak for myself....
I side with the Iraquis Not because I am a Moslem ( I am an Atheist) but because I hate to see people like me being repressed by America.
I wouldn't care less if the Iraqis were moslems or belonged to some 'stupid' religion or anything. I would support them because they are people who are fighting for their freedom.
Who is that on your Avatar anyway, he looks like a Shiite religious leader, Hense the Turban.

They did, because It was a revolution against a Monarch who was supported by imperial America and was putting the Iranian people at Stake.

Seeing as how much i've changed since i wrote my introduction and my renewed interest in posting on this forum i thought it was time for another introduction.
I am now atheist. This is mainly due to Richard Dawkins who thankfully made me see through the absurdity of religious belief and i now can appreciate its devisive nature.
I maybe atheist but i will probably never be able to tell anyone in my community (well not unless i want to get beaten up), i'm just glad i dont live in a muslim majority country because the punishment for apostacy from Islam is death.
I've read a lot since my first message in this thread, including Capital by Marx and the Communist Manifesto and i feel im intellectually mature enough to really appreciate the discussions here.

I'm not religious myself and agree that it's unhealthy if held with extreme belief. However, if it's not held in such a dogmatic sense I don't see the harm in someone drawing qualities and some positive beliefs from texts such as the Bible or Qur'an. Religion is pretty irrelevant to modern day life, though I can't blame people for looking for a validation of why life is as messed up as it is today. It just happens that they happen to be looking at the wrong sources.

Welcome back to RevLeft then, and awesome to see the proof of yet another victory of science and logic over superstition in the mind of a comrade! Communism is known to do that kind of thing.
Got to say that your last post was a surpriser after having read the first one, and a pleasant one. :)
I've yet to read anything by Dawkins myself, but I've seen a few interviews and documentaries on Youtube and agree that he is a bright fellow. Check the 'S&E links, reading and watching suggestions' -sticky in the Sciences & Environment forum, Mujer Libre posted a link to a video of Dawkins on 'the O'Reilly factor' there.
Quite amusing! :D

Hi welcome back!
I myself am a apostate too (of christianity) and ,while my parents handle it slightly well, they seem to hold some kind of grudge (or something, don't have the precise word) and seem to be holding hopes of me turning back; among other things.
A question: Why is is that many old post is filled with banned people?

I was browsing through the last posts of some banned people, like OleMarxco and most of them either got angry and spammed shit or went homophobic, hateful, etc. WB by the way Omar. ;)
