what are the 2 songs you have?
i said goth/emo they have semi emo lyrics but their whole image is black
AFI - Silver And Cold
life
like the flutter of wings
feel you hollow bones rushing to me
as you longing to save
so i will pat you in sivler
smother you in cold
Last Kiss & Death Of Seasons
But the content being black isn't what makes a song Goth, Goth is a genre unto itself and is usually, incorrectly, associated with Goths and the Gothic culture that exists today.

Minor Threat and Fugazi were great bands, although I don't go for the sxe themes. Punk mormons is what I call sxers.

I beg to differ.
Have you ever talked to goths about the matter? It certainly is a strange argument.
In my interpretation, there is no such tangible genre as goth.
And believe any such attempt to classify something as goth, inextribly is linked to goth culture.
The main aspects of goth music would appear to be 80's goth (pop) rock and contemporary industrial music (and such similar electronic genres as EBM, darkwave, etc).
But getting back to my original point, I do not believe goth is a tangible genre due to the fact that the conecpt of goth itself does not appear to be tangible itself. I personally do have some conception of what goth is, however, beyond some narrow stereotypical system, it is difficult to explain succinctly due to the many and differing elements involved in what is at least referred to as "goth".
Does that make sense?
Oh, and I wouldn't personally call AFI goth (as a loose genre), but rather, simply state that they have goths in their band.
Wondered how long it would take for you to appear in here. I wasn't really arguing about what exactly goth is, but more about what it isn't. Gothic music and culture is inevitably dark but being dark doesn't necessarily qualify something to be placed under a goth label, if you know what I mean. For example, a male is a human, but not all humans are male. Anyone or anything can have a black content, doesn't necessarily make it goth. The musical genres you listed offer quite a tangible example of Gothic culture, though of course not what's necessary to qualify as Gothic. As you said, it is quite a loose term.
In relation to Gothic culture and Gothic music today, I was referring more to the stereotypical view of Goths, both created by other people and by many people associated with it themselves. I was trying to point out, quite badly, that Gothic culture and music isn't just what you see around you today.

Agreed. :)
A great example of the seperation of dark and goth music is especially evident in the cultural animosity between black metal and goth. However similar they may be how they sometimes overlap is interesting though.
There's some weird shit on wikipedia about this matter.

No offence, but who are you, to question the truth of what I say when you do not know me at all?
This is the first time I have ever reached -10 -10.
If you want people you are really misleading, look at the people who have messed with the coding and get more than me (e.g. -12 -12)...
