I apologise, I didn't pick my words very well.

I ment those particular individuals did not have then intention of surviving the battle.
If they did, they would not have cornered themselves.

I generalised in order to make a point that such behaviour is common in the culture.

Again I apologise, the meaning in my head was transfered into words poorly. It made sense to me because I knew which gaps to fill in.

I hear that a lot about what happens to them after death. Does that not come from the old Hashishin ritual? I dont know.

But I do believe they are justifying their suicide due to the conditions the people live in. Even Samson was a god fearing man, and one day he tore down those pillars (because god gave him strength) and he killed everyone including himself. But the bible doesnt portray that as suicide, but as an act of courage through the "Lord's" will.

I think that these so called insurgents are merely fighting to end the occupation of their country. If they happen to have religious beliefs so be it.

I'm under the impression that the reason a lot of them are fighting with mujahideen style movements is because it's the one group with most open arms. They've got more of a track record in that area of fighting with American occupiers. On top of that with Americans rolling in with tanks, dropping bombs, and telling the Iraqis they're doing it for "Iraqi Freedom and Democracy" I could understand why there isn't exactly a "Democrat Militia". And if there is it's pretty understandable why they aren't that big.

It's unfortunate that that's the way it had to work out. It's to a point where they have to choose the lesser of two evils. The country that came in and annihilated the place, or a group of fundamentalists who want to install a Taliban style government.
