A reporter asked her (this was when she was dating liberal Bennifer Afflek) what she thought about the Amerikan invasion of Iraq. And she answered, "I don't think about such things." What a coward! What do you think about, you bubble butt decadent wench?

What jewelry Ben AffleCk's gonna buy to her next or when they're gonna have hot steamy sex in their double bed, of course. 'Sides, it American, not Amerikan, that's Norwegian spellin' 'tho. She's too busy occupying her trivial mind with her artistic-microcosmos and other ego-bastant drivel such as making pop songs and posing as a model for cash, that little capitalist whore who totally brushes coldly of the subject of the oppressed IraQis as if they were just a party subject of someone's rumour-mill-of-relationships!

The more important question is who cares?
And even more importantly. Why did I waste my time reading and responding to the original post?

She isn't the only one who doesn't 'think about such things'. Most Americans don't really care about what's happening in Iraq as long as it doesn't affect them personally. They should realize that in the end, they are the ones who are paying for this useless war.

Correct. This is more relevant then what the so important "Lopez" believes. Which it seems is important to the creator of this thread and "OleMarxco".

Stop dissing me for dissing celebrities..and saying my name with apostrophs :P
It's not that I -really- care what she thinks as a celebrity, but when ANYONE comes with such a dumb-fuckin' statement, they deserve to get my full flame. Bring it on, Lopez! In difference to the Author I don't make threads about celebrities, but if I spot a thread about it, I will regard them as -PERSONS- with -VERY- serious egoistic and uncaring attitudes. Of course I will outlet my rage - but not that I cared about HER in the first place, so I have no idea why the author of the thread gives her any attention.
By the way, Red Star, before you run off posting links to your sites about the role of celebrities in the social life, renember no-one here said that they ASKED for Jennifer Lopez' support to our cause. I, for one, just saught to give her a *****slap for the attitude, not that I care that she don't....but it's just not something you say! It's a spit in the face to the IraQi people to "not think about it", even once. WHAT! You don't think about the IraQi's huh, eh? Well then, so neither does I 'bout you.

This is my first post here, so sorry if I sound odd.
Yes! most Americans don't really care. The reason for that is that they are intentionally "dumbened" from childhood. Take for example, the popular American shows for children. Ones like sesame street, teletubbies, etc. They are intended to make American children STUPID. The goals of teenage shows, most holywood movies and even sensationalism-based bias news channels is the same. Why?
Because stupid people are less likely to rebel when the US government does shit like the Iraq war. Because stupid people are easier to control. Because only stupid people will fall for a celebrity-obsession driven culture, which makes ignorant people like Lopez some kind of role-models.
And voila! We have the result.
I currently live in The Bahamas and is sickening how ignorant many American tourists and Bahamians are.
Of course, there are a few occasions when the system fails and we have a half-intelligent person or even a good thinker.

Or Hanoi Jane. She was great! I do not know why she ever apologised. She's crazy to have any regrets. Amerika is the aggressor nation in Vietnam. The Vietnamese did not cross the Pacific ocean to attack Amerikans. It was the other way around.

Was Brando significant in/for the American Indian Movement? Did he help finance them?
Did Ali go on anti-war demonstrations? Give money to anti-war groups?
Those are not "rhetorical" questions -- I honestly don't know the answers.
Ali was unusual, I must admit. A very prominent black athlete speaking against the war on explicitly racial grounds clearly upset the ruling class -- they revoked his title.
I think it bothered them that a lot of black kids might have regarded Ali as a role model -- and would refuse to allow themselves to be drafted.
On those rare occasions when a celebrity "touches a nerve", the penalties can be heavy.
Would you believe that even now right-wing talk show nutballs still complain bitterly about "Hanoi Jane"?

A young woman in beaded doeskin took the stage at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, in Los Angeles, California, to decline Marlon Brando's Best Actor Oscar for The Godfather. Her name, she said, was Sacheen Littlefeather, and she had a message from Marlon Brando.
"Marlon Brando ... has asked me to tell you, in a very long speech which I cannot share with you presently—because of time—but I will be glad to share with the press afterward, that he must... very regretfully cannot accept this very generous award. And the reason for this being... are the treatment of American Indians today."
He also helped set up an anti-Nuclear and funded other causes and groups such as the Black Panthers.

Why do you say that because Brando said:
"Hollywood is run by Jews. It is owned by Jews, and they should have a greater sensitivity about the issue of people who are suffering because they've exploited [them]. We have seen the Nigger and Greaseball. We've seen the Chink. We've seen the slit-eyed dangerous Jap. We have seen the wily Filipino. We've seen everything, but we never saw the Kike, because they knew perfectly well that is where you draw the wagons around."
Larry King Live (April 1996)
I think Brando was merely being observant not being bigotted.

'Sides, it American, not Amerikan, that's Norwegian spellin' 'tho.
Actually, spelling it with the "k" is valid, but it has a different meaning. When you spell it with the "k" you're implying that america is an oppressive, fascist, and racist state. It's in the newer dictionaries.

What's the problem? That's the best she could have answered.
If she said, in essence, "it is bad", conservatives would be all over her.
If she said, in essence, "it is good", then what? People wouldn't be bothering her, but I wouldn't be able to moraly say so.
If she said, in essence, "leave me alone, I'm not answering", she would be bothered even more then if she gave an answer one way or another.

When J.Lo was in Puerto Rico she was asked about the politics there. She said that politics wasnt her calling acting is. That it wasnt her place to comment on things like that. There were a few people in Puerto Rico upset about that but she survived shes still a mega star! I think if she would have given a similar answer about Iraq then people wouldnt think shes so stupid. She answered the question as if it were a fly she was sawtting away. I dont think of such things? Hmm..so she never thinks about important issues. The world around her? Its an arrogant, self - absorbed type of answer(well thats what I get from it) Thats all they are trying to point out.
Really could someone get on the journalists case for asking her a question like that? I mean who gives a flying fuck what Jennifer Lopez thinks? She doesnt do anything for humanity anyway.......

Come on, you really can't blame people for not actively supporting or being a part of the many bad things that happen in the world. I respect the fact that J Lo dosen't wan't to mire herself in bad things (in this case Iraq), and even though I know its bad to be ignorant, at least she doesnent blindly follow Bush and whatever he says.
Give her a break - you guys are NEEDLESSLY mean
Of course I'm only talking about her opinion (or lack thereof) of Iraq...feel free to bash her on being capitalist all you like! :D
And if any of you men out their start bashing her for having an unbelievable body, THEN i'll be pissed
Cheers
