Just a silly little question...
Do we want the yanks and cappies to evolve into the better, or just continue on in their path, thus giving us a better sake against them?

No way. We must unite to fight against burgeois might! Never despair, never have a tendency of a pessimist. Think positive and you shall attract positive energy. Be a do-be. Learn, learn, learn and you shall know.

Do you think it will get to the point of the police charging to arrest you, and having a credit swipe on the side of an ambulance before then? Lets hope not.
As the righties would say "of course you should have privatised police forces, it will increase competition and provide better value."
And then the law will change and they'll all be bought out by Time Warner.
(not to be too cynical for you all :)
I get the impression that the science fiction movies of holywood aren't going to be too far from the truth if we're not careful.

Whichever method turns the world towards a more equal social structure in the least amount of time is the best path.
If the populous can be educated into seeing through the falsity of capitalism, without any "revolution" or armed struggle, then all the better.
However capitalism, by its very nature provides people with only two options:
1) Join the rat-race of modern living, with its shallow materialism and selfish greed.
2) Rot in the gutter with nothing but your Giro cheque and your principles.
Everyone of us that does a days work in a capitalist country is contributing to the problem, through our taxes we pay for the back-handers to TNC's, through our meagre wages we enable a level of profitability that will continue to bolster the finances of these corporations, furthering their market dominance and social manipulation.

I'd rather everyone became left-wing, but it won't happen. At least if the majority of people do then we can take a step in the right direction. I'm trying to get people interested, tlaking to people at school who I think have leftist leanings but don't really think about the whole thing, and so far it's kind of working. Let me get this straight, although I know you guys aren't capis so wouldn't say anything of the sort, this isn't brainwashing, it's opening their eyes.

There will always be people of alternative political persuasion, minor groups like the environmentalists, intellectualists, militarists, anarchists etc.
Socialism and Capitalism at a basic level a differing political stance, like the groups mentioned above.
However, as they are both also economic structures, one of the main objectives of a national Socialist/Communist movement should be to make sure that Socialist ideals adhere as much as possible with the ideals of the minor factions.
The USSR has a terrible environmental record, not only in rural areas, but also in major cities, the destruction of churches in Moscow and Leningrad are the most notable examples. This is not Socialism, this is the by-product of ruthless exploitative dictatorship, and gives many [ableit ignorant] people the wrong idea of Socialism.
