Hey, a representative from the US embassy is coming to my International Relations class. He'll give a speech for 15-20 minutes and the rest of the time I can ask as many questions as I want. I was wonderin if you guys had any questions on Bush's Foreign Policy. Anythin that I can corner him with? Heh. Thanks.
I'll post his replys when he answers, hes coming in a week or two, heh.

The contradiction that comes immediately to mind is why does Bush support "free trade" agreements, which turns over authority to institutions like the WTO, but opposed the ICC on the ground that it violated US "sovereignty?"

I've got 2 questions:
Why does the United States, a liberal democracy, support and prop up dictators, racists, and religous fanatics who are friendly to the US? We did the same thing during the Cold War because we were terrified of the "domino theory", but the cold war is over, and now the war against terror is in full swing.
So, if we are against terror, why are we supporting governments that terrorize and disrespect their own people and people of other nations?
Here's some examples in case he asks:
Saudi Arabia, Burma, Indonesia, Uzebekistan, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria.
To name a few, this is not all of them though, just some off the top of my head.
