Haitian cops shoot 5 demonstrators, who were demanding release of political prisoners (http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2005-04-27-haiti_x.htm)

Among these political prisoners: Yvon Neptune, former prime minister, held without charges for months. Currently on hunger strike, he has reportedly been taken to a Dominican hospital (http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=719625)

Economy has gotten even worse since Aristide ousted (http://news.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=133&id=1310402004)

Haiti's elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was deposed by a coup and U.S.-led invasion several months ago. The UN 'peacekeeping' occupation has...well, see above.

So much for Washington's supposed effort to spread democracy, huh?

I think this doesn't receive nearly enough attention, not only from the big-business media, but from opponents of U.S. military intervention.
