Animal Rights Activist Appears In Court

An animal rights activist wanted in South Dakota for allegedly trespassing on mink farms and freeing thousands of animals, has appeared briefly in court in California. That came as lawyers try to reach an agreement about local theft charges stemming from an incident at a coffee shop.

Peter Daniel Young was arrested March 21st after a police officer spotted him trying to steal CDs from a San Jose Starbucks cafe. His next court date is Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Young, who had been on the run for seven years, was being sought on federal domestic terrorism charges after he allegedly freed minks on farms in Wisconsin, South Dakota and Iowa. The FBI says was indicted in 1998 and disappeared soon after.

His lawer, Lupe Martinez, says he and prosecutors are trying to reach an "acceptable resolution" to the local charges before Young's likely extradition back to Wisconsin to face the federal charges, which carry a maximum life sentence.

Well, the American definition of "domestic terrorism" has been pretty broad since the USA PATRIOT act when, if I remember correctly, even boycotting could be classified as an act of "domestic terrorism".

.....but......at a purely emotional level, I'm glad to see some sense knocked into these self-righeous assholes who've taken as their divine mission to "free" fucking cows. I mean, Jesus Fucking Christ, how the fuck can you "free a cow"?!?

Arrogant, hollier-than-thou, irrational, narcissistic, cultish little fucks...

Yeah, sabotage and other nonviolent crimes being inflated into terrorism. Part of the "domestic front" of the "war on terrorism".

About freeing mink, though: this an example of how animal rights is anti-environmental.

Presumably animal rights groups will oppose the proposed mink cull, too.
