No matter what you like, you gotta enjoy Sovprop. I've dug up a few more.
A Ja Ljublju SSSR (But I love the USSR)
http://media.vad1.com/temporary_url_200502...r-cccp_1994.mp3 (http://media.vad1.com/temporary_url_20050226uwmdi/a-ja-ljublju-sssr-cccp_1994.mp3)
This isn't really so much a rendition of the anthem as it is a weird Russian neo-Soviet punk song about the USSR that uses the melody over large parts of the song on guitar. I absolutely love it. Very 80's action-movie theme sounding.
Der Tag der Grosse Arbeit (The Day of Great Work)

East German, really. I think it sounds neato, but the real reason I post it is because of the melody. Listen to it. Sound familiar? It did to me too, but I couldn't place it. After making a few more people listen to it and watching them start humming along to it before even hearing all the way through, I was convinced I wasn't going insane. I finally figured out it's from a really old American folk song called Red River Valley. And then it gets New Orleans-style jazzy at the end... I just think that's an interesting choice of melody for GDR to steal for a song like this.
Workers' Marseillaise

This song uses the tune to the French anthem (the Marseillaise), but has Russian socialistic lyrics. It was the anthem of Russia during the Kerensky provisional government between the abdication of the Tsar and Red October. I posted it because I found out that somebody wrote
English lyrics (http://www.musicanet.org/robokopp/usa/yesonsof.htm) for it. Damn, would it be nice to hear that a capella.
