Now, i know that interest in africa is rare and care for the continent - even rarer, but i think that as the worlds poorest continent(as well as being the only one that is continuously getting poorer) , and as the one that has been most raped by capitalistic imperialism, communist should turn most of their attention to aiding the downtrodden and deserted right here. for nowhere else in the world do the masses suffer so badly on such a grand scale.

I recently started subscribing to ANC(African National Congress - Mandelas party) today, which is a weekly news letter written by Thabo Mbeki - President of South Africa and the leading figure in African foreign and internal relations. I just recieved my first copy and found what he had to say to be very interesting, the topics covered were; " STATE OWNED ENTERPRISES, SLUM DWELLERS, and a look back on South African history (ie aparthied histroy) in reference to the recent disbanding of the Nation Party - who ran the old apartheid government. "

Now Mr. Mbeki, as with all ANC members, has communist roots, both in their ideals and in their history, although 9/10 of them have abandon there ideologies for a ride on the government gravy train.
Of course not all of what he says is correct or totally agreeable, but his writings do offer a deeper perspective into many African issues.

My only wish is that one day, people will start to care about what is happening in Africa.

You can subscribe at ANC Today (http://www.anc.org.za/ancdocs/anctoday/2005/at15.htm) , The article shown is his newest entry, and just cycle to the bottom of the page if you want to subscribe.
