I think megadeth is one of the greatest thrash metal bands to ever walk the face of this earth. Their lyrics are very political and I just love them. What do you guys think of the System has failed album?

They are ok, I have "Rust in peace". Its pretty good, but not anything special, but while I like a fair bit of metal, it isn't really my style.

They are good, however, Dave Mustaine's authoritarian character makes him kick any band member which may get more fame than him, especially guitarrists, so he ends up with mediocre ones and I also dislike his voice, he really can't sing...

Even though they are one of my favourite Thrash bands... as they combine some touches from other genres, unlike more closed bands.

they are more or less okey.. the system has failed isnt all that heavy, the guitar solos isnt all that, but besides that theyre good.

I adore them, they're political, heavy, dark and an excellent live show. I don't get why no one likes Dave Mustaine, I think he's really cool. Anyone who doesn't like them, please say why! Its not enough really to just say "they suck", saying "i don't like them because..." is cool but just "they suck" is stupid.

They bore me, their riffs are mediocre, Mustaine's voice sucks, their songs are bad compositions, with awful melodies, they are not innovative, the songs I've heard by them are very simmilar, they sound like shit (how am I supposed to describe that?). Plus it's metal and metal sucks.

Rust in Peace is a great album, and there are a few good songs on the older albums and Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia, but the newer stuff is boring crap.

I really dont like Megadeath. I think they are simply the whiny stepchild of Metallica, and I cant stand how Mustaine complains about anything and everything. Their music is mediocre, it seems to lack a creative inspiration to me. I dont really think any of the band members enjoy their jobs.

Post-Master of Puppets Metallica is mediocre, and the stuff after the "Black album" even worse than that. Not so different from Megadeth then.

My opinion on Metallica is simply that anything past "Reload" is shit. They took a bad idea (load), and made it worse.

I honestly think many of Dave's styles and atmosphere are, if not innovative, very energetic. Basically, get in a good moshing mood and put Rust In Peace...Polaris on at full and you'll understand. I know he isn't an amazing singer but that's one reason why I love him, I myself have a rubbish voice and I see the way he made such great music with his voice as an inspiration. Their melodies are not too complex, I'll give you that but they constantly change and evolve within songs (see Rust In Peace, Holy Wars and Peace Sells).

i think its a shame that all music in the same genre as metallica is "metallica-ripoffs"..

Yes, especially Megadeth's first album came out while Metallica were still pretty small.
