What Schröder and Fischer are recently announcing has to been seen in a German context. Means: There are elections in about a month in Germany, and since the SPD can't score with inner German matters, they are now focusing the election campaigns on foreign politics. I doubt that Germany really will hold it's position when the US really attacks Iraq.
