that there is pinned "One Big Union" which is the I.W.W. This is an example of a Socialist Industrial Union minus the political aspect. It has florished as a union leaving politics and religion out of it. It is also international which includes: Australia, British Isles, Canada, Europe, Japan and the United States. What does this all mean to any of you?

I will leave this question hanging because I want to know what One Big Union means to all of you. I know very few have taken a look a this thread and that may be because I am new here. I will go off line and come back tomorrow.

Yeah, IWW is syndicalist; cool guys if you ask me; they believe that the working class can take power through pure economic power; I mean, without the workers, nobody could operate the factories; so the IWW's aim to organize the workers into a class, just a different way though.
Then there is DeLeonism that wants not only economic power; but political power, the worker's party working hand in hand with the workers' union.

I an not a member of the SLP and I do beleive there is some internal problems with it according a few on-line friends who are ex-members. However, yes, Deleonism wants not only for the workers to take control of the means of production but taking the political power out of the hands of the capitalists. I have had the advantage of working within local government for a number of years and I know that government protects the interest of the capitalist class through the military and law enforcement. Corporations have "strike insurance" which means that those people in riot gear are paramilitary personel who have the authority to arrest and beat the shit out of strikers. They also video tape strikers, for any antics that they do, so as to be used to harm negociations or be presented in a court of law. These paramility people are specially trained to handle strikes and riots which I have no doubt their training is courtesy of the U.S. government.
By the end of next week I want to presnt some ideas. I am waiting till then until I have discussed my thoughts to some others. Then I will prepare myself to present those thoughts/discussions on a different thread.

I have no idea WU since I have mostly been involved with trade unions. Industrial unionism is new to me. Most likely they have to follow the same protocol in unionizing a shop to get union representation with benefits. Being a lone union member is not the same but one can join on-line which is also something that cannot be done with trade unions.
