I know i havent posted much.... but here goes...

How many of you guys do more for the impoverished community other than organizing political protests and forming movements and stuff?

I got the point where i was talking to a friend of mine a couple of months ago(hes a commie too), hes a lawyer for a union, and does volunteer work in northeast DC at schools where he takes time off from his regular work and teaches at schools that dont have enough money to afford subs and stuff. So anyway, i was talking to him, and he said "What more do you do to the community than argue with people who have different opinions than you?"..... which got me thinking.... and i started doing volunteer work in Houston(where i live). So some time went by, and i was talking to another friend about the topic of what us commies really do for the people and i said i was doing some volunteer work, and he said that i supported the capitalist economy.... why i dont know.... to which i said what my other friend asked me.... then he was silent.

So yeah, i was wondering what you guys really do for the community?

"One must have a large dose of humanity, a large dose of a sense of justice and truth... We must strive every day so that this love of living humanity is transformed into actual deeds." - Ernesto 'Che' Guevara

Our movement is a believer in 'revolutionary charity'. The Black Panthers did somthing where they had free breakfasts in poor areas and used the time to educate. We (and our Youth Organization) do similar things. We are also in the process of building a school in the Dominican Republic.

"To demonstrate the commitment to solidarity with the people and the true motivation of the revolutionary movement, it is the responsibility of the revolutionary to assist the people whenever, and in whatever fashion possible. - "The People's Revolution" Ricardo Santiago

Alot of things. Started programs where he goto urban elementary schools and read to the younger children. This does alot, it encourages the kids to pursue college because they sort of look up to you. Especially, as a black male, you get other young black males wanting to be like you and goto the same school. I am also about to start a food and clothes driver to Haiti. Lots of things. I was going to do a blood drive but i was too late for that.

me and a few friends started working a food not bombs chapter in my town feeding homeless for a while but that got shut down by the cops. but ive been trying to create a group in my area handing out pamphlets and educating people on real Marxism and maybe do some local activism a little more like preventing the destruction of more forest land for rich ass 2 million dollar houses. most of all aim in the midst of trying to create a sort of commune but its only in the early stages of planning
