I have a couple question and hopefully someone can satisfy my curiosity.

What kind of music did Che listen too?

Is there any revolutionary music? In spanish?

Is there any contemporary music out there that supports socialism and communism?

I know of Rage against the Machine, but I want to know if there are any other groups advocating for socialism and communism.

If anyone can give me some info on that, it would be much appreciated.

NO!!! that's a common mistake...i know a lot about latin music and i can assure you that BVSC never wrote a song about Che...

The song your thinking of is "Hasta Siempre" by Carlos Puebla (which Elmoist mentioned just above)...and to answer aztecklaw...Carlos Puebla is one, he's a Cuban singer who sings a lot of pro-Castro songs.
Also i read somewhere that Che liked Atahualpa Yupanqui who is an EXTREMELY good Argentinian guitarist, and poet.

Also Mercedes Sosa, is a great singer, and also Victor Jara, and violeta Parra and Silvio Rodriguez and Chico Buarque are all good Latino revolutionary musicians.

And if you want more modern music you can also listen to DEAD PREZ, Immortal Technique and other modern revolutionary music...go check in the MUSIC forum...you'll get everything you need there....and now that i think of it!!!! WHY ISNT THIS THREAD IN THE MUSIC FORUM

No, the song I'm thinking of is a cover of that song by Compay Segundo and to my understanding other members of Buena Vista Social Club.

In fact, I have probably about 20 versions of that song alone that range from traditional latin styles, to more latin dance styles, up to and including punk.

The album I was refering to specifically has both Carlos' version and that of the guys from Buena Vista Social Club.

That is one of my all-time favorite movies.
You know, City of God director Fernando Meirelles is coming out with a new movie called The Constant Gardener sometime this year. Can't wait.

Check out Negu Gorriak who are from the Basque Country. They are a great revolutionary band.
