Greetings comrades! My name is Christian A. Correa. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, I left Borinquen (Puerto Rico is a name given by Spanish conquistadores) in 1994 and headed for New York City. I then moved to Miami in 1997 when I foolishly enlisted in the USAF in Sep 11th, 2000 (weird.) I was shipped for brain washing to San Antonio, TX. I was then shipped and stationed at Nellis AFB which explains my arrival to the mohave dessert.

1) My major areas of academic interest are the following in no particular order.
Geography, History, Sociology, Government, Civics, Linguistics, Political Science,
Economics, Latin American History, Latin American Culture, Latin American Icons, and Education! I can link any social problem to education. Therefore I believe it is paramount!

2) I currently work as the Safety Specialist for Hospitality System which operates the hotel side of the property known as the Lady Luck. For reasons still unknown to me I am part of the Human Resources department. I suppose I could not exist as an entity all by myself so I am part of HR. As for future plans I'm not so certain. The future seems quite grim to me therefore I'm not to excited about it.

3) As a member of "Generation X" (DOB 9/9/80) I grew up around computers. My first experience was on a x86 (which is now better known a fossil fuel) in the mid/late 80s. Playing games from Sierra such as Kings, Space, and Police Quest. Lets not forget Lesiure Suit Larry. With that said I consider myself fluent when it comes to computers.

4) This will be my first sociology class aside from whatever related subjects I learned from the deteriorating US public school system.

5) Wow! Must I pick one? Let see, education is getting worse as time goes by and as I previously stated I can link any social problem to education with some relation to the individual's social position. Health Care is still privatized which makes it a business making profits the #1 priority just like any other business. With that said healthy people are bad for business. I say people before profits! It seems that the government focuses on regulating their citizens (ie. Terri Shiavo) instead of corporations. Here is a nice quote from Thomas Jefferson that I always like to refer to.

"I hope that we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country."

-Thomas Jefferson

When the United States ends in incognito imperialist goals it will stop fueling terrorism. I disagree with the violent approach that terrorist organizations take. However I think the problem is US instigated. Some examples are overseas military bases, the globalization of corporations which are not regulated and are designed to benefit World Powers at the cost of third world nations being exploited.

Social Security has recently become an issue. What many people do not know is that there is a cap placed on how much an individual is required to contribute to Social Security. This cap is set at $90,000.00!!! Meaning that an individual that makes $90k per year contributes as much as one that makes say $10,000,000.00 per year. Ha!

News organizations have abandoned their original purpose which is to provide us with NEWS! Instead it is filled with entertainment and political propaganda disguised as "news." Another tactic to keep people's eye off the ball so to speak.

6) I would love to see a revolution via the ballot in the United States when the working class takes control of the goverment away from the corporations. Once this happens I can die in peace. As for hobbies I enjoy learning in the most simplistic meaning of the word. Again Education is paramount! I also enjoy reading anything having to do with my personal favorite icon Dr. Ernesto "Che" Guevara!

What do you think? Any critique is appreciated.
