My name Christian Correa. I grew up in Puerto Rico and was blessed to learn about Dr. Ernesto "Che" Guevara from a young age. Another figure I grew up admiring was our very own Pedro Albizu Campos. I come from a Puerto Rican father and a Cuban mother. My grandfather (mother's side) fought in the Cuban revolution and was blessed with meeting Che. He says Che Guevara was an incredible person. My grandfather said the only person he could ever think of comparing Che to was perhaps Jesus Christ if anyone. He was always amazed yet puzzled to how some demonized Guevara. I'm happy to join this forum with fellow leftist. Viva la Revolucion! Libertad!

Welcome, welcome! That's really great to hear that you're grandfather met Che! Did he tell you a bit more about their meeting?

He spoke alot about Che, he had a gigantic poster of him behind his desk at his house. My grandfather died in 1991 when I was 11 years old. As a result I still had a "kid" mentality and did not retain much of what he told me about Che. Which is most unfortunate since I wish he was here now to refresh my memory. What I do remember (which was later clarified by my mother) was FBI agents coming over at taking him for hours at a time. It turns out they would interogate my grandfather annually to see what he was up to I guess. At the time I thought they were his friends or something. However I do remember them looking like foreigners (Gringos if you will).
