Not sure if this is the right section, as I couldn't figure out where to put it under the Cultural section.

A boycott has been called for all forms of entertainment from April 24th up to and including the 30th to protest the RIAA and MPAA's attack on the filesharing community. The rational is that since the MANY filesharers actually buy the products they download (if they like them, anyway) and since the MPAA and RIAA are claiming that filesharing is robbing them of their hard earned money, the boycott is to show them how much money we actually give them for their crap.

To find out more about the boycott, check out:

EDIT: Well, I suck. I missed the Practice section. Hopefully a mod will see this and move it.

You don't suck, don't be so down on yourself. I reckon you're alright

Did you know I actually used to be a mod? I didn't do much, then I left because I was noble and felt the need to 'pass the baton' to the next generation. Many have expressed that they think it's no coincidence that Revleft has been through a rough patch without me, it is akin to Kondratiev long waves, but Ian long waves.

Yeah boycott RIAA also. Everyone get soulseek and steal from them.

Why anyone would buy music put out by the RIAA I don't know either, their musicians sucks.

I'm sure the protest has a good cause but a lot of the people against this stuff are over protective soccer moms that don't like their kids seein' those darkies.

Absolutely!
Boycott away!

Comming from where filesharing is legal, I can tell you that y'all need to get your ducks in a row and shut down the RIAA before they start throwing people in jail for "copyright infringement"!

Well, I automatically boycott the RIAA anyway, cos the stuff I actually pay for is so obscure no teeny-bopping airhead has heard of them.

I'm pretty sure if people made demands to the RIAA that induced a boycott would work. I mean, if people boycotted the RIAA until they lower their cd prices, or do something else that seemed worth while to a consumer, they wouldn't have this problem. Anyways, they're music sucks, I'd never waste my money on them.
