A worldwide gathering of anti-imperialist youth groups will be happening August 7-15 in Venezuela....the location gives those attending a chance to learn more about the far-reaching struggles by working people in Venezuela, and extend solidarity to them. As well as meeting other activists from around the world, all that.
Other recent World Youth Festivals were held in Cuba in 1997 - with 12,000 participants - and Algeria in 2001 - with 7,000 participants. At one time, they were mostly held in Soviet-bloc countries, and limited mostly to the youth groups of Moscow-oriented parties, but it's become a broader-based thing since.

Some other countries' preparatory committees are linked on the site here (http://www.caracas2005.info/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlink&cid=2)
If your country ain't listed, there's likely to be somebody going anyway...
