Violence? Non-violence?

I wanted to ask what all of you think about using guns and bombs and warfare in revolution to defeat the opressor.

I believe that it should be handled as peacefully as possible. Gandhi succeeded in getting the British out of India with little violence...
On the other hand times have changed. And it seems to me that without guns, it would just be laughed off and shoved aside.

I'm new to all of this, but very passionate. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Non-Violence is the way, It may be the harder way, but it definiley is the way, But violence in self-defence is sometimes needed.
