In case of a draft, I am already planning how to get out of it. I have looked into it and found two possiblities. One would be to flee the country. This is fine but I have also read that Canada will not help draft dodgers this time and any alie will just probably send me back.

Another option I came across is signing for a concienciouse objection. You can get out of going to war if you have strong religious beliefs against violence.

My questions to you are...
1. What countries can I go to in case of a draft? Will they just send me back?
2. Does a concienciouse objection have to be religious or can it be moral? (I am a pacifist)
3. Which of these options would you recomend?

Thank you for your help. I am only fourteen but I am sure the war will not be over when I come of age. Even if I must go to war I will not. I would rather be imprisioned or shot dead than fight for the US.

I think it can be either

What types of conscientious objectors are recognized by federal law?

The Military Selective Service Act and government regulations recognize two types of conscientious objectors:

1. CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS: These are persons who, by reason of religious, ethical, or moral belief, are "conscientiously opposed to participation in war in any form." These people may be discharged from military service. They are exempt from military service, in the event of a draft. If called up, they may perform alternative service as civilians.

As far as fleeing the country, I don't think Brazil has an expedition treaty with the US

I would suggest getting out of the western hemisphere altogether.

Consider New Zealand, for example.
