So....
To take the first step in my learning experience, why is capitalism so evil? From my limited perspective, I see nothing wrong with it. How is a man who succeeds in business wrong? If they can make money, where is the crime in that? Is the working class just bitter that they are not making a bunch of profit?
I'm not a crazy cappie trying to debate, I am just looking for answers.

It would be much more simplistic if it was just about "making money." Capitalism, as it was originally intended, died many years ago. With the transition of state powers to help regulate and propogate business, we've dawned in a new era of super-capitalism, or corporatism.
The boom of big business has destroyed the tenants of the market economic system; the ability for people to create a business that will help their fellow man and help advance technology. Nowadays, corporations are buying anything and everything out; shutting out the little guy with cunning tactics and an army of lawyers ready to locate any loophole known to man.
Not only do they find loopholes in tax laws, they find ways to rip our own workers off. Years ago, many men fought and died for the labour rights in which we in America currently take advantage of. We fought for minimum wage, and compensation for ailment. Pregnancy equality, racial equality, handicap equality. So instead of "sucking it up" and giving us our dues, what do they do? They market jobs overseas. Countries who haven't had their own industrialisation period are being exploited by people so itching to turn a profit they abandon they're own countrymen to do so.
The price we pay for our economic system is great. The suffering of many people is put into almost every product we consume and create. And in our return we get just enough to buy back the items we helped create! The workers are the mainstay of the advanced technological system, and have been since the industrial revolution. Yet, even today, we place the market value of the capitalist as far superior to doctors, teachers, dockworkers, construction workers, farmers, and soldiers.
Why? Because of higher risks, higher returns? Are we really to trust our future into the hands of a gambling class??
For the same reasons Kings had their countries taken way, capitalists will have their factories taken away.

I'm sure this will be answered in many ways, a majority of them much better then my own. However, here I go anyway. Capitalists do make money, true. Money, power, fame, all of these are capitalist dreams. However, capitalism is built on the back of the opressed working class, the proletariat. The burgeoise, or the upper class, the true capitalists, are exploiting the labor of the proletariat to turn over a profit. Almost all actions in Capitalism are done to make money, however immoral they may be, many capitalists argue that the ends justify the means. The means being, capital, money, wealth. However, who says that the work the proletariat is doing is not equal to that of the burgeoise? Who says that a doctor is more important then a janitor? Surely a janitor could not preform open heart surgery, but this surgery could not be done in a disgusting, unsanitary hospital. Also, capitalism often leads to explotation and corruption. If you look on the News and Politics boards you'll see numerous examples. Many lives have been ruined or ended simply to make the almighty dollar (or peso, etc.). I myself have become a Marxist because i have seen the evil of capitalism. It is a very horrific system for numerous reasons. Families live in shacks with a dwindling amount of food while the rich elite spend 100,000's of dollars on shoes, clothes, other pointless goods. The income disparity is disgusting, many families having to work numerous jobs just to survive. Yet unemployment is still high, in America in particular, thanks to right wingers. However, numerous cappies have said that if we were all paid equally, no one would work. Hey, if you don't have to worry about money and can live doing what you love as a job, thats TERRIBLE right? Wrong. People DO want to work, the problem is the income gap, the oppression, the corperations, the capitalist system. We cannot lift ourselves up from our "bootstraps" when they have already been stolen and sold by capitalist pigs.
