I'm just a confused teenager looking to learn more about communism and anarchism.

Its rather upsetting that my dreams and morals are now colliding with each other. I have wanted to be a US Marine all my life. Hopefully this community can give me some resolution.

Well, if you believe in Communism or Anarchism, I can understand why you'd be confused.

Being a part of the military would mean enforcing the government's will, and imposing Capitalism on those fighting it.

We can't give you resolution, but we can tell you that as a dream, either revolutionary socialism, or joining the marines, not both. It's up to you to know which is more important to you, but voluntarily joining the army means you will be on the other side.

I hope that helps.

Don't worry give it time, you'll go off the marines, I mean it does seem like the alternative to being sucked up into the mind numbing shit of 9 to 5's and you dont need to be the sharpest tool in the shed to get in, but you'll develop strong principles and will start to think about things alot more.

You wont join, you couldnt stand it anyways, simply because of the people you'd be wth, no-one wants to work with GI joeeeeeeeeee.

btw, do you have a very tight circle of friends?

Just wondering, to see just how certain I can be of you going off the military, the main clue is the fact your exploring, and asking questions, especially about 'the enemy'. Your not ignorant, military aint for you, military is for the ignorant.

To be honest, not really. I know a lot of people, but they're just acquaintances. I'm an anti-social kid. And most people are idiots, so I'd rather not get to know them. These days most relationships, at least where I live, are very shallow in the sense that no one really cares about each other.

I see the military as my haven. I think I would just fit in. It would allow me to get away from it all, it being South Dakota and everyday shit. I always thought being a Marine would bring me great pride. I don't want to stuck working a dreary 9-5 job as a gas station clerk in this country. Where is the enjoyment in that?

I was a cappie.

My political journey is rather interesting, I've gone from super-cappie-conservative to a liberal, to an ignorant anarchist, and back to a cappie Republican. Lots of ups and downs, mostly because of the internet's information vs. my families ideaology

that is exactly how they get you, your city is down in the sewers, no offense trying to be given, and it seems you have no where to go except the marines. they promise good money, and college and bullshit like that. the fact is it wont happen, youll go into the marines, get sucked into the iraq war, without proper training, and be over there enforcing your imperialist governments policies, on other people, might i add, your interests directly conflict with those of the government
