Bush to Welfare Recipients: Drop Out of School

Lost in the flood of big news stories--Iraq, the financial scandal, Israel and Palestine, fast track--was a little gem from George W. on the subject of welfare reform.


Speaking in Charleston, South Carolina, on July 29, Bush castigated Senate Democrats for trying to take some of the nastier edges off of his welfare bill.


"Under the way they're kind of writing it right now, out of the Senate Finance Committee, some people could spend their entire five years--there's a five-year work requirement--on welfare, going to college," Bush said to applause. "Now, that's not my view of helping people become independent. And it's certainly not my view of understanding the importance of work and helping people achieve the dignity necessary so they can live a free life, free from government control."


A higher education doesn't help people become independent or achieve dignity?


Bush would rather force poor women into any low-paying job than have them get a college degree.

You see vox, the problem is that once a female sets foot on a college campus she automatically becomes a radical feminist lesbian. Don't believe me? Just ask those folks at Front Page Magazine. Anyway, once a woman becomes a radical feminist lesbian there's no chance that she'll marry an abusive, lazy, piece-of-shit douche bag who she does not love, at least not anymore . . . but who fathered her children. This would really throw a wrench in the works of Bush's latest Welfare reform strategy, don't you think? We can't let that happen.

Well some of us were man-hating feminists before going to college because of our high school experiences.

Many counsellers, including my own family members, agreed that a college education was wasted on a woman. If they could only see me now!!! HA! Surfing the web re-indoctrinating myself!!! on a very expensive computer supplied by my employer!! HA HA!!!

I also find that college is a fine introduction to neverending flow of alcohol and a lot of sex without anyone giving a damn.

IDWY, maybe you and I should have picked better colleges to attend......Yale, for example.....
