new security cameras in LA - big brother style

did anyway see the news piece on the bullet proof cameras that the city of los angeles is installing on the streets? they are being compared to the telescreens in 1984. if they can put those $40,000 cameras in compton, who's to say they wouldnt start putting them all over?

thats the whole point. they want to see how the "worst city in CALI" is going to take to the cameras. its not the cost that has anything to do whit it, cause as we all know any place around can come up with the money. the government can always come up with money.
think about it though, London already has cameras there. and they seem to be doing ok with it, im not sure if the people like it, but crime last i heard was on a downfall.

i say its shit. the government just wants to ease its way into our everyday lives and the best way to do that is through "bad cities"

In london they have camera's along the streets. they watch the side walks. i dunno, i agree with you. and im pretty much ok with them though. i agree because i don't want them to fully invade our lives.

Is that also true that many Americans (I mean from US) have been or will be recruited by the State. So their duty will be to control others, and if they're going to see something weird, they have to announce about it to the governement. I read a lot of articles about that! That's exactly like 1984... I am already imagining where it gets later... And I am also quite sure that a lot of people will lie and accuse innocent people whom they just don't like. That's totally unfair and totally ridiculous!
